Heh, ironically it's always the Maria chant that we're hearing in concerts in-between songs, so I guess many want to hear that style... :D

I get people's point who don't like this album -- it's the largest change they have ever made in their sound. But it's not only that: these styles are not for those who don't like noise and glitch. So far people, from Scooter, people have always come to hear songs where instruments (for a lack of better term, but I mean bass drums, synths, all that stuff) neatly play they parts, and the choruses are matching them, the song neatly divided in sections. On this album they get thrown around like in a hurricane, choruses are wrecked in pieces, instruments bleeb and sound like they're about to break, beats are chopped wildly. The songs are uneven and unpredictable! These are the things that put off people who are not into this kind of music, I think. They're expecting a kind of hard but harmonic sound from Scooter, which this album doesn't present in the slightest.

Anyway; I really love this album, because I like just that kind of stuff that I described above. But I totally see why this is not to everyone's taste. And I'm pleasantly surprised Scooter did it so well, considering the wholeness of their songs so far.
 This is a signature.

I really agree with your points Count Acid! I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but if DDE has any kind of indication of the style of the album as a whole, then great! I really like what they did with H.P.'s voice (is the odd monotonous-robotic-speech-effect comb filter or some kind of a stretch, by the way?) and I think the C-part of DDE really belongs to the Top-3 C-parts of Scooter history, it's so random and bleedy and bloopy and stuff wobobo-waba-bababa :D

You're putting your finger on something really important here. This is excactly why I don't like it. I don't like mess. :P I like my music tidy, neat, with nice vocals, bassdrum, synth in harmony. After all, people don't call me Miss Commercial for no reason. :P The album isn't terrible, it's just something that could have been made by anyone. It's not giving me that good, warm, Scooter vibe. The (in my opinion) technical quality that make the music stay in harmony. It's full of songs that are okay. I just expected more, because I always get more. That's why I'm disappointed I think. ^^ For me it wasn't Scooter, my favourite band of all times. It was whatever.

Well, so here is my review!

1. CILF
It has got a very mysterious tech feeling to it whih I definitely like. But there's hardly some structure in it and there's hardly being created suspence. In these terms the intro of WGTLLN is way better. But its also a nice idea to include some sublime message in there. Certainly it's not the worst of their intro's.

2. DDE
I like this one pretty much but I wonder if it will be comercially successfull just for the reason TOO failed that hard despite it's more dancable beat.
As for DDE it sounds very fresh and up2date. I definitely like the auto tuning of HP's voice as well as the main parts. The C-Part kicks a55 but hearing the tune or the first time the arrangement seemed a little chaotic to me.

3. D
Very cool techy intro but i hate the vocals and this glitchy c-part sounds incredibly noobish. Not quite one of my favourite tunes. Mostly I skipp it.

4. BTI
As a huge fan of Enigma it's no wonder that I love this tune! Especially the female vocals are very nice to listen to.
The switch between the HPV and HP's vocals sound nice too. The glitch parts could be better but this track still kixx a55.

5. SD
Horrible synths there and the whole tune sounds kinda cheap and childish, except the breaks. I like to skipp this one.

6. IAB
Nice dancy electro tune but the female vocals are implemented very bad. Have they forgotten about an effect called "backverb"?!?!
Anyways for me it's one of the better tracks.

7. CB
UUH yeah! Hardstyle! Very energetic, typical scooter tune! <3 this one although the french voals suck a bit.

8. 0815N
Too long intro IMHO but the rest is nice.

9. CYE
So awesome! The B-parts sound like from 1999!! As for the chorus, it's amaz1ng. Good mainpart too, but as hardstyle this tune would do way better.

10. TOO
Pretty nice actually.

11. SADARR
Is it only me, or do the vocals suck in fact?! Mainpart sucks too. Skipp It, the rain will come.

12. C
Horrible arrangement and melody implementation, rest is nice. Wicked bassline too.

13.BBC
Kinda weird and 80s like but cool. Glitches R wicked too.

14. SD
Great SCOOTER-tune!! No more words bout this one!

15. M
Very well produced tune.

My ranking:
BTI
DDE
CB

I kidna got mixed feelings about this album. HPs lyrics are certainly the best ever but the electro influence got way too far IMHO. There are maybe 'round 5 massive tunes but that's pretty much it. As for the rest, I can delete it from my phone right away :S Indeed no comparison with TUAO!

I would give the album a respectable 8/10 ... Its not perfect no, but It's a major improvement on what has been produced since MTG.
My favourite track of the album has to be Its A Biz. Absolute love this, so powerful.
Worst track has to go to either Sugary Dip (just sounds cheap) or maybe Summer Dream on the sole basis that the high pitched La la la la laaaa is so fricken annoying.

On a side note, just cause an album is in a different 'style' which you may not like, doesn't mean that its sh*t. Open your mind.

agree,

the only fault for me is that their is no electric guitars and a powerful ballard/new vibe style covers, but other than that, this album has the potential to become another top album for scooter

now for me can it beat the last 2 as i always compare

to be better than UTROTT it has to beat no 2 in the chart, this will be near impossible unless they get no 1,
also it must last longer that 12 weeks to beat UTROTT, which i hope it can

to beat JAOTW it has to beat 9 in the charts which i think it will, i feel top 10 for sure even top 5
and will have to last longer than 49 weeks, which i think it wont, unless scooter hit the uk hard again it will never happen,
part of the reason JAOTW was so popular was the number 1 in the uk, which gave the album and band massive fortune,
also the singles collection helped JAOTW to reach the top, without those 2 key factors, it would have never have been popular.

now the new album has a singles collection mixed, and the album has the potential to reach the top of the uk charts, so i have hopes for scooter

After listening a few times, here´s my review:

1. C.I.F.L. It´s very hard to grade an intro. It´s not their best, but the songs are more important.

2. David Doesn´t Eat: I like HP´s part, I can unerstand they chose it to be their single. Dubstep is not my favorite, but everybody was begging for something different, so here it is. I don´t think this will be a big success. 7 of 10 points.

3. Dreams: I think all the parts combine nicely. Just like DDE, not a particularly good song, but also not bad. I liek they´re trying something new. 7 of 10 points.

4. Beyond The Invisible: At first I thought WHAT THE F**K! The original is a great song, in a very different genre. I personally still think, they went too far with some effects here. I won´t wkip it when I´m listening, though, it´s not that bad. My daughter loves it by the way. 5 of 10 points.

5. Sugary Dip: After three Dubstep tracks something more Scooter-like, but still slower than what we´ve got recently. I personally like the rap and also the effects. 8 of 10 points.

6. It´s a Biz: You must know I´m an 8th grade teacher. Tomorrow I will get my student´s opinion. But this is what´s in. also my kids (6 and 4 years) LOVE this song. Everything fits together. Although this is not "typical" Scooter: 9 of 10 points.

7. C´est Bleu: I think this one is what al Scooter fans like most about this album. I agree. This MUST be a single, I want extended and club mix of this. But then... why do you complain you don´t want Jump/Shuffle anymore? This track is PERFECT. 10 of 10 points.

8. 08:15 to Nowhere: A cover version. I grew up in the 80s and love the sound of that time. I love what Scooter did with this track. It has rhythm, melody, energy. Even if it´s not fast. 10 of 10 points.

9. Close Your Eyes: I like that "shift" between the synthesizer and the vocals (half a beat???), this is more "old Scooter". The synth melody is like The Only One, well, similar. I will give 9 of 10 points.

10. The Only One: Like the drums, the lyrics are awesome. We´ve known this song for half a year now, and I still like to listen to it quite frequently. It gets 8 of 10 points.

11. Sex and Drugs and Rock´n´Roll: This one´s again really comercially inspird. So what? Ask my students again :P I love the part between 1:20 and 2:00. 9 of 10 points.

12. Copyright: Together with C´est Bleu the best track for me. Love the rap and the melody. Nothing more to say. 10 of 10 points.

13. Bang Bang Club: A nice 80s inspired instrumantal track. Some effects are too much if you lsiten loud (and what Scooter fan doesn´t listen loud). Like it though. 8 of 10 points.

14. Summer Dream: One of 2 tracks to jump/shuffle. Also a nice one with cool lyrics. 10 of 10 points.

15. Mashuaia: The traditional long trance track to close the album. Not their best, not their worst. 7 of 10 points.

16: Friends Turbo: I LOVED the 1995 album version, the 1995 single version, and I LOVE both new versions. 10 of 10 points.

If you don´t like dubstep, think of it like an album with intro and three bonus tracks, that then starts at track 5 and includes a bouns track 16. Normally a Scooter album had 12 tracks, this one has more.

As you can see, I also like "old" Scooter better, but I think this is a good album with some variation. Their experiments are neither good nor bad for me. Every successful band has the right to try something new.

Looking forward to B-sides ;)

Maybe (being a teacher) I should tell what the grades mean for me:

10 - extra-ordinary
9 - very good
8 - good
7 - acceptable
6 - not enough
5 - so bad that action must be taken to change it
4 or lower - talk to the parents!!! (luckily I don´t need the numbers of the guy´s parents)

Well, from 14 tracks (wont count intro and Friends Turbo as I dont consider it as a new track), I must say that I like 6-7 tracks, which is big improvement for Scooter when it comes to my taste - especially considering incredibly bad JAOTW and slightly better UTROTT. Then again, none of these tracks are amazing or incredible, they are just OK or good in my book. Probably because I still cant feel that something special that Scooter's older productions use to have, but those times are long gone.
Nevertheless, TBMU is definitely an improvement, especially when it comes to production: most of the tunes are really well produced, with many new effects, sounds, transitions and other cool tricks. Also, many tracks dont follow the same structure as before, so this all is a really big plus and really unusual for Scooter, in a good way. Scooter going dubstep (with even 3 dubstep tracks on this album, as Dreams has some dubstep parts as well) is probably one of the biggest surprises ever, totally unexpected...I often say that I have dreams that are "more real" than some real events :)
On the other hand, and I can't emphasize this enough - too many house tracks! There are about 6-7 house or house inspired tracks and that's just too many, especially for Scooter! So i wont ever approve this, because house and Scooter just dont go well, in my opinion, so this is a really big minus!
So, here are my thoughts if anyone's interested (I wont grade tracks I dont like):

David Doesn't Eat - While the beat structure is ripped from Nero - Promises, it's still a decent tune, with a catchy chorus and good dubstep beats in some parts, although not a typical dubstep track. I must say it really misses a proper melody, after the chorus. 7/10

Dreams - very nice d'n'b track! I like almost everything here and I wonder why many fans dont like this track - dnb beats are awesome, HP's lyrics really go well with the track and I especially like voice effects at 2:15, really well performed. Again, very good dubstep parts and many cool effects. Because I never really liked the original (Richard Sanderson's Reality), I give it 8/10.

Beyond The Invisible - typical dubstep track, not typical for Scooter though :) nice beats (I wonder if they're "borrowed" as well), chorus from Enigma track really suits the track and makes interesting atmosphere...battle with "HPV rapper" is very interesting idea and I really like it, HP lyrics are also decent. Then again, it lacks a proper main melody, so therefor 7/10.

Sugary Dip - Although it has some commercial house elements, I wouldn't call it a house track actually, it's actually a special Scooter hybrid which I really like :) Melody from the beginning is really nice and for me, it's probably the best melody on the album, so I really hope it's their own...Although I was never a fan of the original track, chorus is really executed well and it really works! Nice effects and transitions also...Because of some house parts - 8/10

It's A Biz (Ain't Nobody) - just awful, typical MTV house bullsh*t...because of some beats and rapping parts I have a feeling I'm hearing a Pitbull track. If they had kept that melody that follows the chorus, track would be much more listenable.

C'est Bleu - typical "Scooter" hardstyle track. I've put "" because it seems to be another Technoboy rip off. And it's just too cheesy for me. Another "skip it" material.

8:15 To Nowhere - dont like the original and this is an obvious cover/rip off so I dont like this one as well. The beat and melody is very monotone and dull, makes me wonder why they've chosen to cover this track. "Melody" that starts at 2:10 is one of the main reasons I HATE modern commercial house music, whoever invented this sh*t should be put on a trial. Also, the track is too long and I really dont understand why, as there are so much better tracks which I would enjoy in extended versions (most of them are just 3 minutes long), but definitely not this cr*p. Will skip it for sure.

Close Your Eyes - decent trance track. Not so good like some previous Scooter trance tracks, a little bit slower and too much happy for me, but it's OK - it has decent melodies which make nice atmosphere and female vocals (from Echobelly - Dark Therapy) are really well executed. 8/10

The Only One - dont wanna waste any more words on this disaster...

Sex And Drugs And Rock 'n' Roll - this is definitely a new low for Scooter. Everything is wrong with this track. Everything.

Copyright - although it's another commercial Guetta/Pitbull bullsh*t, the main melody isn't bad at all, it would be really nice if it's their own work. So I'm not sure yet if I will skip it in the future, but I probably will because of annoying rapping parts :)

Bang Bang Club - disco house track. Has some nice synths but it seems to be another rip off. Synths are good, but the track itself is not my cup of tea. Much more listenable then commercial house disasters on this album, though. I will give it a try couple of more times, but will probably skip it in the future.

Summer Dream - another hardstyle track. Very happy and cheesy, but in a good way. Let's say it's guilty pleasure :) HPV parts are cool and main melody is not bad, I hope it's theirs but I wouldnt be surprised if its another Technoboy rip off. Because hardstyle was never really my style, lets say 7/10

Mashuaia - trance instrumental for an end. Not one of their best though, I wonder why most of you like it so much. There are so much better trance instrumentals by Scooter, even in 4th chapter, Way Up North comes to my mind first (actually it's probably the best trance instrumental in 4th chapter).
But, considering it's one of the few trance tracks on the album, especially considering it's surrounded by house excrement, I will probably listen to it sometimes. I dont like some banging parts (2:07), though there are some decent melodies, although a bit too happy :) I really miss good euphoric trance melodies from Scooter, like Way Up North, Soul Train, Cordyline, Giant's Causeway, to name some "recent" ones..

So all in all, not bad album, definitely not good but it's really big improvement when it comes to production and variety! My top tracks - Dreams, Sugary Dip and Close Your Eyes. Then - David Doesn't Eat, Beyond The Invisible, Summer Dream and lets say Mashuaia.
Worst tracks - definitely Sex And Drugs And Rock 'n' Roll and 8:15 To Nowhere/ Then - The Only One, It's A Biz, Copyright.

I think the album will grow on me in time the more I listen to it, its definetly going to be permanent fixture in my car for a few weeks. My initial feelings are that the typical Scooter energy is missing from some tracks, but i've only had chance to listen to the album in full about 3 times so far.

Close Your Eyes is a superb track with real single potential, Summer Dream, Mashuaia, Sugary Dip are also stand out tracks for me. I also think the addition of "suck my megamix" was great, im sure im going to listen to over and over again.

I'm listening it for the 1st now and am currently at It's a biz.I like the album much more as I thought I would when I heard the samples. It's a nice and refreshing change.I like It's a biz a lot at the moment, but I'll give more detailed and extended review in next days or weeks when I've heard the album more. For the time being I can only say that I like It's a biz a lot.

Also, 1st impression of the album is much better as it was in UTROTT and some of the latest albums.
Everything I comment, is done strictly in my opinion, so if you disagree but don't have anything smart to say, don't bother replying, because I won't reply back.On the other hand, constructive posts are always nice to read and I'll reply with pleasure.

You have said what I am feeling in a way - I think its a good album with well made tracks and the guys have certainly proved they can make different music, but for me the power and energy is not there in some tracks.
All previous albums have also had something intangible but special - a sort of special Scooter sound that made them distinctive, although all different - some tracks on this album don't have that, even H.P's voice has lost its distinctiveness in some tracks.
I think they have done a good job with the album, and I really like some tracks, but some just are not Scooter - sort of just normal stuff like others make.
I also think the megamix is a great addition and I'm sure I will listen to it a lot, especially in the car on long journeys.
I'm listening to the album again now, and i have the feeling that 3 or 4 may become favourites, but unfortunately not them all, which is a first for me with a Scooter album

I respect but just cannot understand or comprehend this sentiment. HP's voice lost style??? Are you mad! He sounds better than he has since MTG. They stopped using the bullet mic on every track so he has that 99' sound back on his voice. His lyrics are the BEST in years and the tracks have variety. DREAMS is one of the best scooter tracks I have ever heard!!! That is the real scooter. It is lot like Never Slow Down or All I wanna do. The places they failed, for me are on Ces't Bleu and Summer Dream. UTROTT and JAOTW were the worst phase in scooters history. Maybe not commercially but sound wise. The wooden textures and uninspired rips were a poor poor version of Scooter. The simple fact that those of you who dislike this album must realize is, is that you LOVE trance and you LOVE euphoric melodies and assume that just because scooter does different genres that this has somehow changed. Scooter is still Scooter and the BEST they've been since MTG.

I just had to speak out to some of this nonsense.

WGTLLN - Great productions as usual but unspired songs
TUAO - A few good ideas muddied by terrible production and strange song structure/lack of direction
JAOTW - The absolute LOW OF LOWS for scooter. No inspiration, bad production. This was the LEAST scooter had ever been scooter.
UTROTT - A small improvement.
TBMU- Not a GREAT album but a very good one. On par with MTG for me.

If there is a next album I would expect it to be GRAND.

Haters, go listen to something else. I am fine with the Scooter we got with TBMU. Keep it rockin boys!
