You know it's a bad release when Friends Turbo is the best track.. I'm still a fan but no way will this be getting pride of place in my collection.
Whenever people agree with me I always feel I must be wrong.

Okay, I'm only through one listen, soon going for a repeat, but I wanted to leave a comment for anyone interested.

First of all, in the past months I am extremely into dubstep, and yet I was fearing rumours about Scooter going dubstep. Not because I think they suck, but historically, dubstep parts from non-dubstep artists have been pretty lame as of late, or if they were good it was not because of the dubstep elements, it was because of the vocals, the other genres involved, and so on. When I heard the samples my fears disappeared: Scooter's dubstep (with the exception of David Doesn't Eat, which takes the dubstep part from Promises by Nero), sounds like a less crazy Skrillex, but it's not really worse, it's actually pretty good dubstep. So the first 4 songs of the album are totally fine with me, I also like the other things going on there.

When it comes to the electro house parts, it still works. At various parts it really does not feel Scooter at all to be honest, but I don't really care: I'm in for some good music, and whether this sounds like Scooter or Britney Spears, I don't care. It's entertaining all the way through which is what matters.

I like the instrumentals, very melodic apart from the final song, and they are also a bit of fresh air: after 2 albums by the band where the whole album has basically 1 style, this is probably even more varied than TUAO, so for those who didn't hear samples or the single, this will sound insanely strange. But will it sound good? To me it does. One hell of an entertaining album, even if some parts feel odd for Scooter. Even the worst parts are good enough to listen, so no troubles. I'll check out the Megamix too at one point.

I listened through it once now...
first observations:
-laaa lalalala laa laa voice is the most annoying sh!t ever to feat. in a Scooter track (Summer Dreams)
-after all those comments I expected the dubstep tracks to suck and the few trancey tracks to rock, it's the complete opposite that happened
-there is actually no Scooter bassdrum (like in Ramp!) in any of the song, not even in the trancey ones :S
-nice variety in styles
-the intro is cool

gonna have to listen 3 more times...

Allright, now it's my turn.

I've been through my first listening, followed by the megamix, but right now I'm back to the album, hearing especially some tracks more times. Because, WOW FUCCCKKK meeeeee.......... There is some GOOD SHITT on this album!!!!! My god, but at the same time, there ARE parts who are really not that great, at least not yet. 8:15 To Nowhere comes to mind..... and some more of the later tracks.

But the first part of this album? ...and let's include Summer Dream and Mashuaia (I wil love Mashuaia more in time, I think... it's good but it also contained a very non melodic part which was not that great...) Well, these are the tracks that stand out in a positive way:

David Doesn't Eat
Dreams
Beyond The Invisible

Sugary Dip (WOW I'm so surprised by the beautiful female vocal AND the cool effects they put on it, I was fearing a cheezy smurf HPV, like on that other dance track from a few years ago that made me HATE that "Have you ever been mellow" part)
It's A Biz (Wow, what a cool track, H.P.'s rapping makes this track! His voice is awesome here! Also like "Ain't Nobody" parts!!!)
C'est Blue
Summer Dream
Mashuaia

and probably a few of the ones in between that I just don't remember at this point.

Rest assure, I'll come back with a full review in time. And for the dubstep of Scooter, even though I have resisted dubstep until this point, I gotta say... that this is like an extended orgasm type feeling. They are in a way teasing us. They drag it out and it's working. Maybe this is part of the reason why people like dubstep too... It's not trance, but it's like they've taken trance and put in more detail, slowed it down to half speed and extending the pleasure experience from the music. Well, when done right, that is.

One other thing... i love how Scooter are proud about their ripping and stealing and how they are not afraid to have so much focus on it. I totally agree with them. Good artists copy, great artists steal, like Picasso said. :D
Find out what you cannot do... And then go and do it!!

I was very, very disappointed with the album at first but after listening to it a few times I am just a little bit disappointed. 8) It's far from one of their best albums in my opinion, but it has a few solid tracks. The far best is Copyright. In my mind that is the only track with hit potential and it should naturally be released as a single. I do think Copyright has some potential to be a dance hit at clubs around Europe. It doesn't feel "Scooter" but it's not weird being a Scooter track either so it should be able to gather both Scooter and non Scooter fans.

SCOOTER if you read this:
next album in 2012 and go back to straight forward music like on WBTN, but fresh please!
I want trance and no jumpstyle and no hardstyle and no dubstep and no electro and no house!

you guys have the talent to produce such an album in half a year, so start producing the next album in december 2011, please. TBMU is a complete experiment, it makes up for all the experiments you didn't do during your career, but it lacks the >true?< Scooter sound. Please think about this and don't follow any trends with the next album... no jump/clap clap/d'n'b thingy, back to the heavyweight jam b!tches!

I find the album to be very different, but in a good way. The amount of tracks that I found to enjoy are higher than other previous albums where I would only find a few tracks that I enjoy.
