I don't see why an album has to have 1 style/theme. IMO an album is a "gathering" of songs, that the artist have made with the intention to make an album.
1 style/theme... that's what made UTROTT fail, IMO. Too much similarity, too little diversity...

I think the fact they put FIRE back on the tracklist during the UTROTT tour could be a sign that they want to test how techno-rock works nowedays. So it could be possible, I certainly wouldn't mind it, because I'm a big fan of Scooter tunes with an electric guitare in it.

Wrong. UTROTT sucked because it sucked. Cheesy, wooden, unimaginative. It however did have an ALBUM/coherent sound. Not necessarily a good thing in this case.

TSTE is a PRIME example of an ALBUM/Coherent sound and in this case a GREAT thing. The album had a "sound" and sounded like an album. 1 = 1. But it also had amazing diversity in song writing and structure, melodies, etc...

We need another TSTE.

My guess is that Fire is just an awesome track that they wanted to play on the inferno

How could the be a test, playing an old tune for the fans?

I'd be more of a test if they'd put a guitar in TOO and played it in concert

well if this news is true, then good, but going by the last guitar track released (behind the cow), it could also fail
and have scooter gain the whole repeating again theme going on

however, i liked BTC and loved imaginay battle and DTFHC

also october would seem plausable, even gives them time to release the dvd if done

But still, it could have been some little test, providing the info from mr. Langford is correct. But well, as you say, it's an old hit, and great for a mega show performance, so yes, i admit I might have been wrong with the reason they played it

I have to say that I agree with aganim -- Fire has always had HP playing guitar on it... If there ever was a test, I'd say it was the different settings for more modern rock/metal sound. (But I don't think there was any test with that song.)

Anyway, those guitar songs -- if true -- interest me. The first idea I had was something like the guitar in Eyes Without A Face or in Break It Up -- you know, the acoustic kind or something that sounds like it. Another possibility is that they've had some guest musician in the studio.

Maybe we'll get something like 'The Revolution' or 'Fire'

Or hopefully something like 'Psycho'. That's a cool track.

I hope they incorporate the 303 and devilfish 303 in some new tracks. That's one thing I really really liked about BTTHWJ.
