Well, they blew their chance of promoting the up-coming album for 15000+ people (plus concert viewers elsewhere, and those who will see it later on youtube and other places during the next few weeks). ;( I'm still somewhat bitter that they didn't play any other new song, especially since they've said there'll be a new single before or with the new album. This wouldn't have been too early and the reaction would not have been anything bad -- it's not like the fans would have booed them off the stage for hearing a brand new track (unless it's electro house :D). And they surely know TOO's chart position and that this concert won't save it, so it would have made sense to pave the way for the next track (or just any new track to preview the album). Oh well. Perhaps there's rationality in the decision not to have anything new, but I just can't see it. If they're trying some reverse-buzz tactic of keeping everything quiet rather than giving us a taste of it, I don't think such a technique will work for their best, either...
Or alternatively they didn't do it because:
-Nothing is so far done (despite what they've said) that they could present it. :P
-They don't think anything from TBMU would have worked in a big concert like this. :P

At any rate, I think TOO did quite well with the audience, and it certainly sounded pretty good, I loved hearing it.

Thanks for info! That sounds really promising -- and I take it that they didn't just try those styles in the studio but actually made songs for the album in those styles, right? I'm curious what that hard back to the roots stuff means, but I have a hunch -- stuff like Crank It Up on Our Happy Hardcore but with updated sound! 8o That would be so awesome.

Yes, I asked him about the fact, if they'll go with new trends...he said: "definitely no!". I expected this answer, but it was good to hear that, too

"This is Scooter's last chance to retain me as a fan

This album better be good is all I'm saying. Let's face it, the fourth chapter has been a disaster. UTTROTT is a disgrace to Scooter's earlier work, and the previous album wasn't a whole lot better. Scooter really went off the rails in chapter 3 though, when they started the heavy ripping and not caring about quality. All they care about these days is fame and how the music charts. If this album is bad, or even just mediocre (probably the former) then my interest in this band will have completely dissapated. I will always have the albums I own to cherish, but as a functioning entity Scooter will be dead to me.

Haha sorry for being such a downer. It's just how I feel."

If you feel that way, I hope the new album disappoints you. I'd say it's a good riddance of a "fan"

I own seven of their albums. I've been participating in forum discussions for at least the last couple of years. I've been as much of a fan as any of you of Scooter. Me and Jay are probably their biggest Australian fans. People are just blind as to how cr*p Scooter have got lately. UTROTT had not one original melody, except maybe for that section of See You Smile. TOO is a continuation of this. It's unbelievable how lazy they've gotten. All you have to do is listen to some of their first and second chapter albums to hear how good and creative they once were. I will still listen to their songs that I own, but if this album is cr*p, I will take absolutely no interest in any of their future endeavours. Peace ;)

exactly my thoughts. Honestly at the very beginning I loved UTROTT but only because I had no idea about the hardsytle music business. Due to this album I took a big look at the hardstyle scene and I was quite shocked about the enourmos ripping in UTROTT. I hope as well for a very good upcomming album but I am afraid I will be disappointed .. the name says it all. Anyway, hope dies last.

I would have to agree with langford. The 4th chapter has been pretty bad. The end of the 3rd chapter was going downhill, and Jumping All Over the World cemented it.

The only top tracks I can think of in the 4th chapter are: State Of Mind, and the original Jump That Rock and of course the Within Temptation Remix. The only things worth listening to. The rest are very poor.

I said I hope this medley played Saturday is not what is planned for the album, because if the big mash up album is built that style of songs remixed medley of old songs! I'm really disappointed! and I really hope the new

well this will explain thet the new album wont be a mix of old scooter songs,

regarding their music today, i also agree that thr 4th chapter is the weakest of them all, but within the madness, their is some great tracks, and a few good ideas
TUAO has a mixed feel to me it good, but it seems to not have a major kick to it
JAOTW was proberly the underdog, its my least favorite scooter album, but again it has some good tracks, TQIWITQ, IL, JAOTW, the singles certanly stood out
UTROTT better and proberly the best 4th chapter album so forth, shame about all the ripps, because most of this album is really well worked
TBMU, im getting a feeling of mixed tunes in one track coming up, i can see trance mixing in with house and so on, and scooter have already said that many styles will be involved, so im looking forward to it

If they want to go back to the roots please create an album like Wicked. With pianos, breakbeats and trance influences. I woul kill for this! :D

Actually piano's are maybe highly possible on the new album, because the Scooter Remix of Sinead had them and also TOO :D

but what does this mean?
UTROTT was harder than any other Scooter album and TOO wasn't hard at all...

Quoted

I love pianos, that's one reason why I like Posse that much.
But I don't be upset if there are none. I just want >5 min. experimental instrumental songs back f.e. No Release, Acid Bomb, Devil Drums, Trance-Atlantic...

anyway... my ideal album would be:
1 nice Intro
3 single style Scooter tracks
2 atmospheric and/or singing style songs that go over 4 minutes at least (The Chaser, Like Hypa Said, Second Skin f.e.)
1 experimental song with HPs voice
5 instrumentals

and UTROTT was like:
1 intro
8 single style songs
1 singing song
2 instrumentals (one weak, one OK)
:|

well...
at least Scooter should really start working, only a month to go except if the album gets delayed once more...
and if the reason for delaying the album was that they want again only just 2 instrumentals but more HP, I will go f#cking crazy

I think it means they want some tracks to be harder than 'trance/dance/house', not all of them (or then they indeed don't make any sense). By the way, I think WGTLLN? is their hardest!

Agree with your points, that's the kind of album I would be glad to see again.

I also really love piano's in Scooter tracks, they somehow enhance the atmosphere, just look at the single version of TN or Posse, as Aganim says, or now TOO. They give a specal extra and bring back some nostalgic feelings of the 90s somehow, the endless summer feelings so to speak. But the fact Scooter now used piano's in TOO and the Sinead remix makes me hope for more such wicked piano melodies. But atleast we have a new single, TOO, with piano, so even if that will remain the only one, I'm still glad we got the piano in it :)

The Big Mash Up delayed once again until September/October
here is a short interview with H.P.

Q: What are you doing for the future?
HP: We are recording our new album, that's going to be out in september/october. We're struggling a bit, the album should have been out already, but it's going to be good, it's going to be good...
Q: What can we expect? Something completely new?
HP: I believe we worked one year in the wrong direction... We wanted to make some electro-house... We realized that this isn't really our cup of tea, but sometimes you can reach your goal by a devious route.

Now I wonder what that means?
Didn't Rick mentioned 6 or 7 tracks are nearly finished?
Will they rework these tracks? (maybe in a different style? is this even possible?)
Or were these tracks finished after they realised that electro-house doesn't cut it?
Or do they throw those songs in the trash and start from scratch again, lol...

Oh f*ck...... :cursing: ;( :|

This is SO UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!! Sigh. There goes my end-of-summer party. But I kind of expected something like this because the date is getting so close and there hasn't been any news...

But I guess it's a very good thing they did notice that electro-house is not for Scooter. I hope those done tracks can be used in some way -- maybe as components for whatever they're trying next, if possible. I would imagine some of the ideas and melodies could work in different styles, but then again, who knows... But this piece of news is certainly a setback. But as HP's saying, it's going to be good in the end. This sudden realization might make the album much better, they have likely gotten new motivation from changing the main style, and making something that they know fans will like.

But now when I think about it, September is only a month from August, and October two months from it, so it's not such a severe extension of time. (Even if it means 30-60 more nights to wait.)

It's in a way like some of us expected, that after the little succes of TOO, Scooter might rethink their soundstyle a bit .... although I do like TOO, but sales wise it seems not to work, so it seems Scooter do a good thing, to change the sound to something else. Now the question is, will existing tracks be remade, or will they just be put in the dustbin ? That last would be a shame, because I'm sure they would be interesting to hear. So it might be will will have a sort of "lost" album, that somewhere in the future might appear someday.

its good that they seemingly realized that slow beats with house elements cant work with their own style :)
i hope for a TUAO-like album (without the cheesy stuff in it, with more power though)

Yes, interesting facts...great that they change their ideas/thoughts a bit! Btw, I don't wanna hear some house/electro, the real unique Scooter sound is that, what we want to hear. Maybe we'll get these "rubbish"-parts of the new album after a few years? :)
