This is indeed a charts disaster :S ... really surprising, because I actually thought the track would do rather well. And fans in general seemed to really liked it, and some of them didn't like FT nor bought that one, so I was sure when they like TOO and will buy this one it would do much better in the charts than FT did. But as it seems FT will win it. Actually, it has won already.

I guess the fans have to hate a single for it to do well. :D

Anyway, it's sad, but as I've written a couple of times -- and I'm too tired to write about it again -- their marketing isn't good enough, and some stores didn't even have the single because they thought this track came with FT... Etc. Way too many mistakes!

As for the song, I think it's great -- but could people be put off by its slower tempo? ?( I think it's a ridiculous idea but sometimes people act strangely. And then the fact that Friends Turbo ruined the effect of brand new Scooter sound for many (who don't read this forum and know about everyting the band does and thought FT was the first show of the stuff they've been working on).

Or maybe people are getting tired of Scooter.

Take UTROTT for example. 2nd place on the album chart on the firts week. But then the album lose huge ground. Only after few weeks.

My theory is that only fans got the UTROTT album.

Their marketing has surely got some faults nowedays, but well, I'm no marketing expert to attack their marketing policy, but just thinking logically the marketing lately isn't as it used to be -> late video releases, no interview on VIVA Live!, not really any TV-ads as far as I've noticed, with TOO singles not in store and so on. But well, we blame the marketing but maybe it's indeed like 'Cold Shadow' says, that the general public seems to get tired of Scooter, and only fans still buy the releases.

When I spoke to several people recently, that I am going to a Scooter concert in Hamburg, they were surprised that they still exist.
They said that once they liked Scooter, but then got tired of them because "they still were playing similar songs. "
And so it seems.
We, the fans still listen to them - but people from outside are already bored with almost 50-year-old guy screaming to the microphone.
Besides, after so many years on the market, Scooter has lost freshness ...
What's wrong with you ?

I think Friends Turbo really sucked because of its poor quality-and that would be an understatement of the year, as much fans complained about the cooperation with the movie characters on the track itself-and from reading Russian forums people there cursed those characters in some of the worse curses the Russian language can offer-and believe me Russian is strong when it comes to cursing :-), so hating so much this cooperation is well deserved.

From this- going to a hasty production of The Only One seems like only to cover the flop of FT-but I think that it's funny when a band so fast produces a single just to cover the flop of a previous one-in my book it's actually a disaster even more because people still have in mind the flop of FT,thus they will think-ah here's another one like this, so not worth buying either.

I think after a flop a band should relax with the releases and take some time to perform live-because most band usually touring anyway, especially Scooter, so to speak compensate the fans with some great show(s),tv shows,DJing in Scooter's case or whatever, and only then release the next single-I think after show the fans are much more "forgiving" and willing to give 2nd chance ,because they rediscover the driving force for their love of the band's music rather than after releasing another single in a speedy manner.

In Russian there's a proverb "If you do things fast-you will make people laugh" -"Pospeshish-ludei nasmeshish" Try saying it :-)
This is exactly this case.

This is pretty much the way I feel too, despite viewing myself as a fan since many years. The last album as actually pretty good, but it did not feel fresh. In the last few albums Scooter have seemingly lacked inspiration. It seems they have run out of gas. Around 2003, when TSTE was released, I could see the Scooter album lying in people's homes here and there, even at people who I certaily did not expect would listen to Scooter. Now you can't even buy their album in a music store in Sweden anymore (the last single I bought in a CD store was Jigga Jigga, after that I have had to buy everything online).

And to be honest, The Only One is NOT a good track at all and it didn't deserve anything better.

Xer -
Or maybe they should try to do something else? Something that had not yet been? Almost every single Scooter looks like: a-b-a-b-c-b.
Typical Scooter style.
Let them try to make a true made for Inferno single - something that starts up normally, and starts to accelerate to achieve the maximum speed at the very end ...
And to be honest, The Only One is NOT a good track at all and it didn't deserve anything better.
I think the same and do not understand the admiration for this track.
The reality in some way verified the true value of this single...
I am surprised about very poor ticket sales for TSTI - two weeks for the gig and tickets for almost every sector are still available.
I really hope that guys have a good idea to TBMU, otherwise it will end in a very distant place on the charts ...
What's wrong with you ?

i can imagine very well some housy scooter track with some distorted & autotuned HP vocals and some proper groove (michael is a genious when it comes to that), some proper melody (i wouldnt mind a ripp of.. ricky would easily deal it).
some kinda ti sento (vip room mix)/ whatcha want/ return of the future.

but please no yeeeahahhahahahah more please...

seems like now TOO wont be a hit, i recon next week it will climb in the chart do to the live shows on tv, but as it is so far down the chart, it will be lucky to event breakt eh top 50 now, 4-6 weeks and it will be out,

shame really, its a good track for those who like it, not the best, but good.
maybe the similar sounds area put of, swedish house style with again samples and a typiclal scooter track, and of corse the similar yeahs from one awlays hardcore,
i hope th new album doesnt follow in suit of this, however i like the song, but its not there best.

also i do belive the lack of cds in the shops has contributed to the charts, some people dont like downloads, half the fans on this forum dont, and at this stage this is the only way of getting the song, or online orders.

maybe now scooter have got the stage in their career, where nobody listens to them anymore,
and as said with UTROTT, i also said this way back, i do think the fans were the mainreason it charted at 2 and fell quick, once a fan has it, they have it.

also the 2 track singles are a major put of for the fans who prefer a full single, and so they wont but it.

i kinda believe this tend following thing scooter have been doing for the last 4 years has had its day, i say go back to the most successful style and work on that and make new ideas, because for me trance is still the best they did and is still a very popular style of music.

also i will admit, im a little concerned, TOO was ment to be the first single wave of promo for the new album and the main wave of promo for the inferno and it flopped,
and despite any ideas scooter have had, the last 4 singles have flopped

TSAMH, a move back to trance, but it flopped due to its quick release and lack of promo
SOR, despite its high promo and its official titel it flopped, thanks to the hockeys last minute promo, it was albe to do a respectable 12 weeks in the charts.
FT the first single in a year and it was a cover of their own song, and despite it being an official movie song, it again flopped, and the late promo didnt help things,
TOO, the first real new single from scooter, and the cd mix up has proberly been its cause for the flop, no cds in shops, no sales, and also, where is tis airplay, no radeo, only some tv, even clubland tv dont have it yet.

now unless scooter sort something out soon, it aint gonna be so pretty,
now we must see how the next singlw will do, if right, it should do well,

as i said, i do belive the cd mix up has been the reason for TOO's fail.

"Typical, similar" - and this is precisely the problem.
And as for the promotion - if a song is good, people will listen to her, downloading, buying, watching - demanded it.
If not - even the best advertising will not help.
What's wrong with you ?

having said that, the new remix of WT i think is really good, and had a similar feel to TOO
and also is liek a trance/house tune

I hope that won't be their demise then... I can't understand the thinking that everything but that structure would be too risky, it's not like their career would fail with one different single. Plus I believe people like to hear stuff that doesn't follow that pattern.

well their aint much point moaning now, its gone bad for scooter this single
as said it will likely climb next week because of the live tv shows,
but without the cds in the shops it could leave the charts altogether.

this also hapened to aii shot the dj, a good track which failed to impact
i wasnt a fan when the single was released, what was the reaction here on the forum about that, same as now i guess.

as we all know the cd problem seems to be the main cause for this bad run in the charts,
or again it could be that nobody but us fans like it, who knows,
but im sure scooter will sort it out next time around.
