Friends Turbo and Ferris

Okay, before I say anything: this is NOT about ranting and whining. Only constructive comments please.

So, as we know, Ferris have had his little battle against the guys in the Nessaja thing, but what about Friends Turbo? Since it's clearly a remake of the original (of which Ferris is the author, partially) - and the lead samples & melody synth were left obviously unchanged, Ferris is a rightful copyright owner on this track. Do you think they are going to share it's success with him?
'Cause I doubt it. And in that case, Ferris will totally have the reason to be upset - which means we're gonna get more bugging on Facebook.

I think you/we've other problems than the copyright of this track. You can only speculate, the management is responsible for this.
I don't get the sense of this topic, are you interested to damage the band?

Maybe they share the success, but....who cares?

I doubt that Friends Turbo will be a problem. I suppose either Ferris still gets money for the royalties, for example like every best of or live album which features one of the first chapter tracks, or otherwise he got a load of money once he left the band for all the tracks he co-produced.

Could be... judging from Hungary, copyright laws are as f*cked up as can be :D Wether you're a copyright owner or infringe-r, it takes a lot of effort to deal with such things. Hours of queueing in offices, court, talking till you're blue in the mouth... it's chaotic. That's why I laughed at Ferris first when he said he's gonna sue the guys :P

I think Ferris should get money from it, as he for sure will be mentionned in the credits, like everytime on recent live or best of CD's where a track from the 1st chapter is included. Scooter can't escape that I would say, unless somehow Ferris agreed in some contract to refrain from all rights he has, but I highly doubt he would do that, unless he would have had a reasonable sum of money for it. I remember Michael Jackson bought all the rights for Beatles tracks, so maybe Scooter did the same with Ferris in 1998 ?

In fact it even looks ridiculuos if the biggest sample-stealers ever start to care about the rights. If all the groups that have been ripped by Scooter prosecute the band, Scooter would never ever pay off their debts. :D As all the rights belongs to the brand name Scooter, I believe that Ferris, who ain't more a part of Scooter, has never got any money for using 1st chapter singles. hmm, that's why he's so angry and stressed.
Riding with me is my friend R.J.Jordan,
Knowing the rules aint part of his program,
Finding the right tune that fits the track,
Might be pretty hard cuz he's f_cked on crack!

Start the match and find the station
Reach what you can and party the nation,
A? Hey! Whatcha gonna say?
I automate the sequence and speed for my getaway
Take it to the edge, there's nowhere to hide,
And call up the crew; let's go for a joyride!

Let's go for a joyride!

Totally agreed. And Michael Simon, whether he would be in credits or no? Remember, this is re-release and nothing more.

I suppose Michael could be in it, because he had some input for sure, so he could be added to the list of writers I would say ;)

he will be credited nothing more i think

technicly it is a scooter track, no ideas have been stolen so there is no need to start any problems

if thisis the case then why hasnt he complained before, and if he did what is his problem in the first place

as said maybe scooter or kontor/sheffield tunes have full power over all of this sorta stuff

after the 15th we will know for sure

but as i said, he is likely to be in the credits
and somehow i dought mike will be, as if you check the live dvd/cd., the re editd havnt got mike on, just the original creators

He will not receive any royalties from "Friends Turbo". All the ex-members signed a declaration stating that after their departure from the band, royalties and income will no longer be their right, even if they helped write some of the songs.

I was told this by a pretty reliable source. I'd say I'm about 90% sure.

So a bit like I guessed in a way, that Ferris might have been "bought out of it" ;)
