OMG I just realized it´s been almost 18 months that I haven´t logged in. It´s been time to do so again.

I don´t understand any panic about any of the tracks to suck. On what evidence do you base your claims? Wait until you´ve heard the tracks a couple of times. To me it sounds like "Friends Turbo" could be a remake, but again, there´s not really any evidence. "Like Hypa Said" also haid nothing in common with "Hyper Hyper". The best thing we can do is count the days until April 15.

I just know for sure that a new Scooter release is the best way to start the spring vacations

Hm... I've seen that thread a little late, and I have no intention to read the whole topic. But the last pages makes me thoughtful. Why such a panic behave about the new single? I for myself am in heaven about a new release from a pretty good single of the 90's era of Scooter! God f*cking damned that's great! For me it's like a backflip into my youth. Back then "Friends" was my first single of Scooter who I bought, and I still love that track today. So can't understand some opinion about that release. But on the other hand, I think Scooter does know exactly what they do. And maybe "Friends" does fit exactly to the movie. Therefore is it really necessary to make such a panic before the single is out? Just think about it!

Friends does fit, because the movie is about a bunch of friends doing all sorts of strange jackass like stuff together. And the main music of the movie as it was in Holland, is happy hardcore. So FRIENDS fits like a glove to that movie. For the Dutch release Paul Elstak had the main theme and in Germany (and maybe other country's) Scooter has. Both are stars of the happy hardcore era, so FRIENDS is the right choice I would say, for many reasons

Hahahaha Apocalypse of the world. Nice term! I for myself think there are some more bad happenings as the reproducing of an good old 90's track of Scooter.

I don't (in my opinion ) act so, I just hope it isn't the new album's demise. That's what matters (oddly, since it's not my band) to me. And it sort of puzzles me why nobody else is concerned about that! I still don't think it's a good move to release this single. It might do well (although at first I doubted that), but it will affect the next real single for sure. I agree it's great to get a new track, but it should be a different track.

The way I see it, the movie crowd that gets excited about this track are either already Scooter fans, or they become new fans and expect the next single to be in similar style and sound (whatever FT will be, but if it's fitting the movie's sound, it might not be Scooter's new style). I can't see this release gathering more interest for the next single than there already is.

By the way, I wouldn't make much racket if this had happened after the new album's release, when everybody would have heard what Scooter has really been working on. Although I still wouldn't like the fact that they're releasing a reworked track as single, I just don't think the world needs those things when the album will have likely at least six brand new tracks suitable for that purpose.

Well, now I finally get your point You mean that after FRIENDS TURBO people will expect the next single to have a similar sound, like TQIWITQ & ANM for example, and when they get a totally different sound it might put them off. Am I right that this is your concern? But in that case I think that's why it will be a double A-side single, to also show people THE ONLY ONE as "first" single

The forum title was changed by Sandra, because in the news TOO wasn't mentioned, so it's not that it was changed because we won't get TOO I asked Sandra it yesterday

I noticed it right now: everyone is talking about "Friends Turbo", but nobody is talking about "The Only One". Everyone is concerned about a reproduction of an old track, and worried about that possible new fans could demand the same style into the next single releases or in the up coming album. So please don't forget what HP did say: it's an double A-Side single! Thus, not "Friends Turbo" will be the new single but rather "The Only One"! And nobody cares how "The Only One" will sound. For me is that the real new single, and the real hint for the next sound of Scooter in 2011.

After browsing through the latest pages of this thread, I borrowed your pic, Flying Dutchman. This pretty much sums up my thoughts.

That's my concern too, but my biggest concern (and these are all intertwined) is that people (most of them won't check Scooter's page for news) think a reworked Friends is the big new sound they've been developing and get very disappointed. They might also wonder why Scooter is releasing a reworked track and think that they've made it especially to get in the movie, even if it's another way around (them requesting Scooter). Perhaps I'm wrong but I think generally people's hopes and expectations are highest when a band has been away working on new material, and if they come back with material that isn't the true new material they've been making, people are disappointed or falsely think it's the new work. This is why I started to think that the double single is a bad idea too, simply because it seems to be focusing more on Friends Turbo (as one might see by reading all the recent news; if one hasn't seen that one clip where HP mentions The Only One, one won't even know there's going to be a track with that name). But perhaps, somehow -- I never expected JAOTW to go #1 in the UK -- things will work out well, and Scooter won't be thought as a stuck-in-the-90s New Kids representative band.

hahaha... well, don't people already think like that ? Many journalists write their reports exactly with that opinion But I see your point, we prefer Scooter to look more "stylish" and "posh" so to speak, and not like a band full of Alfi Harcore New Kids style fans
