Would they actually be in any way responsible for planning the Inferno at this stage? I find it difficult to accept that this is inhibiting production of new material. And I don't think they'd be greatly involved in it at this point either.

I talked to one of the Jumpers back in December, and he said he was about to go off to a meeting where they were planning it. So it looks like they've been working on it.

I want to believe in the theory that they this time won't have promo long before (and to note, Scooter always keeps the promo time quite short compared to some bands that tell of a new record half a year before its release) the first single: that all of a sudden they'll bombard us with news and a new single (yeah, I might be dreaming still, I just woke up... perhaps...). 8) I would say that there are signs of it, with their showing their faces in the newspaper advertisements, steady-ish updates in Facebook about Inferno... But I just hope the day will be soon because it's getting so unbearable! I get my hopes up every Monday and Friday, let's see what this week brings...

Scooter often have bombarded us with sudden surprises in the past. They are indeed not preparing us for something already half a year earlier. With the album name of UTROTT it was an exception, but they did that, because at that time there was the Brüno Nessaja hype, so bringing some very early news about a fortcomming album name was in that case a logical commercial decision to make people, that discovered Scooter due to Brüno, waiting for more to come ;) But as you say, the fact they appear more and more in adds, so show their faces, would be logical also as promo built up to a new release that will be presented in the near future ;)

Personally I think the album for sure will be released way before the INFERNO, that would be a logical decision and would make the special event also a one off tour for the new album. :)

I can't seem to picture what they'd specifically be required to do. I mean, they're not organizers and therefore play very little role in preparing for the event itself. The update has said that they're back in the studio too working on the forthcoming record. From what I can tell they've just been making the tour posters and other promotional material viral. Nothing that would entail postponing the engineering and launch of new material. And I still haven't seen anything that contradicts the tentative release for the Spring... So it'll be before the Inferno. The Inferno takes place in the Summer.

Didn't they produce the whole TUAO album in just 2 or 3 months?
And we had a news on the 5th november stating that they're back in the studio to record a new album.

I don't see a reason why there wouldn't be a new album in april/may, before the inferno.

They're probably the ones who are planning the entire event, what songs there'll be, what kind of effects they want, where, etc., and of course the reworked tracks. BUT, as I think too, this is not interfering with the new album. As aganim said, it was indeed something like that, a really short time that they needed for JAOTW. (And they already said before that news item that they're working on the new album, so they've been working on it since before November already.) I don't think time is any issue here. I hope Rochen is right and we're that close to the next single. I wish they tried to build some hype for it by giving some news of it before it's released, but that might not happen.

Another question: What was the longest time we had to wait for a new album? Wasn't it TUAO was it?

There was also quite a big gap in between WBTN and TSTE if you "forget" the best-of album and live album that we had in between ;) But when you look at the waiting time just in between some releases, I would say we had to wait quite a long time for for TUAO, but also it was quite a break between the "original" JAOTW album and UTROTT ;) So there have been big gaps before, but the sometimes have been filled up with special editions of album, like JAOTW-WYW and with Live albums ;)

I think it was UTROTT: 1 year and 11 months after JAOTW.
TSTE was out 1 year and 10 months after WBTN.
And TUAO came out 1 year and 3 months after WGTLLN.

EDIT:
Ming The Gap 1 year and 9 months after TSTE

OFFICIAL NEWS (our chancellor Mrs. Merkel told me when having a date with her last night):
The next Scooter single will be - SCOOTER ft. ZU GUTTENBERG "RIP IT RIGHT". With the possible end of his political career because of the rippings in his doctor thesis in sight, the German minister of defense decided to produce techno music which he is a big fan of (he even met his wife on the Loveparade). His qualifications in ripping qualified him for a co-operation with Scooter. The single "Rip it right" will be based on the chorus melody of the German song "Alles nur geklaut" (Die Prinzen). Further you will find elements of some other songs in this track, according to rumors there are even "up-speeded" melody elements of the German national anthem within the song.

@Technoboy and Co.: Get ready for the RRI (real ripping inferno)!

@topic:
We had "Live in Hamburg" between UTROTT and the forthcoming album - so there was a release to "bridge" the waiting time. Further the UTROTT-singles were released within a very short time and two of them even before (JA)/with (TS) the album release - so the waiting time seems even longer now. In comparison: JAOTW's releases were spreaeded over nearly two years - the period started with TQIWITQ? in summer 2007 and ended with JAOTW - WYW in automn 2008.
