but if I were I'd feel sorry that I can't hear a great song which was played at the beginning of the tour...

It was played throughout the tour. Each and every concert got a taste of this marvellous edification of a simply superb track; only to be told at Essen, which was neither the first nor the last concert, that copyright restriction made it impossible for Scooter to release the edit commercially. It's that incongruity that continues to baffle me to this day. It just doesn't make the slightest bit of sense... :S And I'm not particularly surprised at the fact that U2 is forbidding them to use the sweet melody, I'm just confused as to why H.P. would only mention it at Essen, but not any of the other concerts that played it.

I remember afterwards that a lot of fans uploaded their recording of the track onto Youtube, and there was even a group on Facebook that was set up solely because people were excited for its inclusion on the Live In Hamburg DVD. Basically, his irresponsibility in forgetting to bother mentioning it to fans other than those that attended the gig in Essen, created quite alot of excitement and hype. You know the rest... It ended in disappointment. I was amongst the disheartened.

as said it would seem scooter were maybe planning to release it as a single, but they could have used something else if they chose to release it
so i guess theywanted it for the live dvd/cd but because they could not get the copyright sorted, then like 2008 with roll baby roll they had to leave it out,

and i would say that an edit of the track to put it on the dvd would have kinda spoiled the track for the live version we herd, so i guess they chose to leave it out in the end

Hmmmm...

Considering the Hamburg gig did take place before Essen, it's possible they were using that time up until then to deal with sorting out ways they could include the track, and thus preserving the concert on the DVD/Blu-ray in its entirety. I assume that's what they wanted - but they should have sought permission about this copyright business beforehand. That way they wouldn't have let fans be inadvertently duped into either believing this would be the next single or that it would be present on the Live In Hamburg product. Basically, from what I know about the situation, they simply went about it the wrong way. Tracks of this quality don't deserve to be shelved and left to slowly fade away into obscurity.

Do you remember what happened in Berlin with "Roll,Baby,Roll"? Scooter has played it live but it wasn't on the dvd because Abba has forbidden to use their melody. With "WTB" we have the same situation because of U2 - it's a bit strange, don't you think?

Yes, but Roll Baby Roll WAS released on CD at first :)) later there was re-press of the CD's with Swinging In The Jingle instead of Roll Baby Roll, but still... and what about Where The Beats (live version)? It's NOT released and will never be released, as I understand.

By the way, in my collection I have TSTE with Swinging In The Jungle and still don't have TSTE with Roll Baby Roll :)) Still want it :)

I don't think an amended edition of TSTE was ever released in the UK. So to my knowledge every copy has Roll Baby Roll.

Could be something to look in to...

I bought TSTE in my home town in 2003, and that was the first version, with RBR.

Your best bet would be Amazon UK's used marketplace. Even then, without asking the buyer which edition they're selling, you're ultimately just taking a gamble. Most of the sellers in the new section of the marketplace are based outside of Britain--which presumably means the product listed is the second edition rather than the first. And I'm also pretty certain the edition Amazon are now selling is imported from Germany, given that the album was released years ago and Edel UK are long gone: meaning the product is no longer manufactured. May as well email one of them if you're uncertain and interested.

There's also Ebay UK.

Beginning to see how rare this edition is now. :O

You,re right about Roll Baby Roll! but why couldn't Scooter use it on a live dvd? There was a Scooter Day on VIVA the other day and they performed it in the studio

and BTW I have TSTE bought in Poland (standard edition) and Germany(ltd edition) with Roll Babt Roll

It would appear they're permitted to play both Roll Baby Roll and the new Where The Beats... version in concert, but are prohibited from distributing the tracks commercially. Doing so would be copyright infringement, for they lack the artists permission to release it under their name. So they may well be allowed to play the new Where The Beats... version at both the Stuff The Turkey tour and the special TSTE gig -- or any other concert for that matter -- and get away with it: but it's strictly forbidden for them to legally release it.

I would've thought they would have considered just posting the performance from Live In Hamburg on the Internet for free. It's not as if the videos currently uploaded on Youtube of the track have been removed due to copyright. So, I dunno. Me a little baffled. I think it's possible the new Where The Beats... will make a final appearance at the Stuff The Turkey tour for being a follow on from the UTROTT tour-- which I'd venture to guess provides them with an excuse to play it again. Indeed, I foresee fans uploading another dozen or so videos of the new Where The Beats... once again. Fingers crossed they'll be better quality this time round.

Kriszti, it'd be awesome if you could offer some clarification.

Are you referring to the predecessor of Swinging In The Jungle or the first edition of the TSTE album? ?(

I do hope so. One HD vid would be enough to have a decent sound. And I would really love to hear the track again on the december gigs. I was somewhat surprised that Scooter didn't perform WTB on further concerts that took place after the UTROTT tour this year. But well, they cut BABB and the instrumental medley also on some gigs out of the playlist.

I think the chances for a new single being played instead of the new version of WTB are very likely ;)
