Clubland 4 has been cancelled :(

Here is the info http://www.clubland.fm/news/news/242/clu…nouncement.html

Not sure I'm going to be able to cancel the hotel, let alone train tickets.
So gutted!

What is happening? Maybe some smaller gigs, but why was clubland cancelled?

My guess is that the "unforseen circumstances" probably have something to do with Scooter. After all, shows were being cancelled left and right before...

Happy I cancelled my Glasgow project of going there.... This time, no money lost like I did for Romania.

Are you guys mad? No way it's Scooter's fault. They wouldn't willingly miss this opportunity, these shows mean a lot for the UK success, sales, and promotion. Plus I don't think big events like these would suddenly be cancelled if one band dropped out. And as said, I can't see it being Scooter. They aren't so irrational that they would cancel this sort of gigs and stay in Hamburg studio instead, they can take their time with the album as long as they like, a few days wouldn't change much. The problem lies elsewhere.

Long time no see Maddy. :)

I saw this just before on facebook, don't know why its been cancelled but it definitely isn't lack of ticket sales because they were close to selling out at most venues on gigsandtours and ticketmaster. My guess is perhaps Scooter pulled out due to album or their own tour commitments and Clubland couldn't get anyone big enough to replace them as headline act. Nevertheless I am almost 100% certain it will be rescheduled for sometime next year with a bigger and better lineup. Such as more than 5 dates; lots of people are complaining because of lack of dates and especially no London date. Also Darren Styles isn't there so many people are complaining about that (he's only not their because his partner is due to give birth in late October).

To say this is unsurprising is an understatement. This is now the 3rd time that I have had Scooter cancel a gig near to the actual date. Whether its them, or the management, or some other circumstance, we never get the full info. All we get is big holes in our wallets. Gutted for the people who cant get refunds on hotels and train tickets etc.

Luckily I live an hour away from Newcastle so Im not out of pocket. But this stinks big time. It could also be to do with the likes of Aggro Santos, Tinchy Stryder and Roll Deep getting too popular since the tour was announced and can't now fit it into their schedule. Nobody to fill the gaps so no option but to cancel. I have sent an email to a friend who works for AATW. If I get further info I will let you know.

I think it's a bit too early to say it's Scooters fault... I can't see them cancelling something like this for no reason at all, and they really wouldn't have any reason at all.

Haven't they said in the past that concerts do at times interfere with their ideas in the studio? Perhaps they've got a flow of magic running that they don't want to risk compromising by travelling to Britain. And there have been a number of gigs cancelled as of late that could possibly be related to their commitment to making their time in the studio as productive as possible. Although they admittedly enjoy the hectic schedule that's thrown at them and enjoy working on the clock, sometimes you've just gotta relax and focus on what's important. There could be a whole host of other reasons; but it'd be acceptable to me if they came out and admitted that the reason for the cancellation was because lots of progress is being woven and refined in the studio. This was Adam's excuse for cancelling the UK/EU tour this year as well.

Besides, they were headlining too. If Scooter can't make it, the events are drastically changed and many ticket buyers would be disappointed.

What the hell is going on!? Now I'm afraid that Sankt-Peterburg concert on 27 of november can also be cancelled.
Riding with me is my friend R.J.Jordan,
Knowing the rules aint part of his program,
Finding the right tune that fits the track,
Might be pretty hard cuz he's f_cked on crack!

Start the match and find the station
Reach what you can and party the nation,
A? Hey! Whatcha gonna say?
I automate the sequence and speed for my getaway
Take it to the edge, there's nowhere to hide,
And call up the crew; let's go for a joyride!

Let's go for a joyride!

I had a feeling this would happen all along after what happened with dance nation...

I am still waiting for the rescheduled Ireland shows, I mean seriously, how long ago was that?

People are too quick to point the finger at Scooter - they would not have wanted this to be cancelled, because at the end of the day, they would have wanted the money they would have got from it.

But nothing says Scooter has cancelled it, or that the event is cancelled because of Scooter!! As said, don't be too quick to judge, people...

Of course concerts can and do interfere with studio work, but I can't see Scooter cancelling something this important just to gain a few more days in studio... They likely have quite a bit of elbow room within the record company, it's not like they couldn't take a few extra days with the album if they absolutely needed them. I can't see the guys being forced to much, other than the deadlines they set for themselves -- and these concerts hardly come as a surprise, I'm sure they've had their work scheduled around them. And I also think they've been waiting for these shows; they want more success in the UK, and already from a business point of view they're loosing good sum of money now that Clubland isn't happening! Plus a few lives could yield to some good ideas to album tracks. The other cancelled gigs were due problems with an Austrian organizer and the Austrian tour operator had to cancel the concerts. And to say, I'm pretty sure those dates would have been pretty small scale compared to this... And, they did just visit Finland, a relatively small club gig, despite the work going full steam with the album...

I don't think anyone should blame Scooter for this - after all Clubland helps keep Scooter known in the UK.

Exactly Acid, the whole Clubland show was cancelled by AATW it seems....and I'm sure it's not due to Scooter as main reason. I think Scooter would have wanted to go, but the whole Clubland was cancelled and therefor they couldn't go anymore. Very sad news for the UK fans though ;(

Dammit! Just had a call from Ticketmaster saying it's been canceled. bang goes my night out in Manchester and watching the mighty United before heading over to see Scooter. :cursing:

You can't blame Scooter for this, that's just laughable. Ticket sales have been poor for all of the venues which is the main reason. Normally you'd be searching Viagogo and Ebay for a decent ticket this close to the dates but you can still easily get seats and standing for all venues. Most people in the UK couldn't give a monkeys about Scooter, that's the only way you can aim any blame in their direction. The poor line up overall is to blame, Not HP and the boys. Bugger it.
Whenever people agree with me I always feel I must be wrong.

Who's judging?

Speaking hypothetically, if Scooter were the culprits for these whole line of cancellations, I wouldn't hold it against them for I presume they'd be reserving the days to capitalize on a few ideas that they plan to instrumentalize in the studio. Owl City recently cancelled his UK/EU and Australian/New Zealand dates because he wanted to take advantage and extend his time in the studio to work on perfecting the work related to the forthcoming record. That to me is entirely permissible and indeed defensible from their standpoint. I'm not claiming that this is the case; but I'd be willing to defend such a deliberation if it were the reason. Excuse me, but that's far from being judgemental. And in regards to creativity being hindered by concert dates, it's not as if ideas themselves work on a schedule. They come when they come. When you're in the midst of producing a new record, it'd be advisable to sometimes ensure nothing interferes with the flow of ideas. But as said, this may not be the case. Just guessing. Only one post in this thread could potentially be construed as hostile.

Didn't mean you, but people who're already writing as if it was Scooter's whim to cancel Clubland! It's more likely Scooter is a victim of this.

If it was Scooter's idea just to drop out of it to spend a few extra days in studio, I'd be mad. It'd be such a foolish thing to do and completely useless. But I still believe it's not their fault Clubland is not happening.
