what interview are you talking all about?

There is a message on the main page that Scooter will record some interviews before the UTROTT-tour will start again in Finland 24.09.10. So, we expect some information about a new album :)

Perhaps they meant interviews before the grand tour in december? ;)

Technoboy needs protection, Scooter is watching LOL:D:D:D (joking)
Seriously, it's gonna be a desaster if they rip so many things from one artist, especially new and well known samples X(

in terms of these interviews, i too thought in december which would mean a 2011, but the wat things are going lately i wont be a bit suprised if these interviews dont show

and god fobid if scooter do yet again an album just full of insulting samples

as good as UTROTT is it was kinda an insult with the level of sampling going on, JAH had 3 samples, looking at all the samples and the ripping from technoboy and other well known tracks i went a bit suprised it flopped, i hope the new album wont be the same.

to me the whole 4th chapter has had nothing but bad luck, and to me scooter have failed to make any good music since 2003-04
dont get me wrong there has been some good music, but it has all been in bad light
TUAO-had soem good music and went down well with the fans and it is a favourite of mine too, but it lost the whole scooter feeling to me, the sound was kinda bad, it always aounds like it is a low quality and again a lot of samples were used, fortantly they were older songs

JAOTW-had incredible success, i can see why scooter came up with the idea for UTROTT, but this album is without a dougt the worst one ever done, to many samples of familier tracks, the album has the same build and synths all the way through and way to much hpv, to me the bonus cd was the only attraction as to its sales and of corse TQIWIQ and JAOTW were popular tracks, but certanly far from scooters best, and to make it worse the album was re released in so many forms it was like a money making scheme, but at the same time i believe scooter were hoping to make the full year in the charts, and nearly did so well done there, the only real attraction to me was im lonely the single version, it was fresh and tracey too, the the hpv was to much in the track, but thankfully sounded really good

UTROTT-now this was a big impovement on JAOTW, but the ripping and sampling doubled from before which is what ruined the whole album, again the album had the same build as before, luckily the tracks mostly had a varity this time and a few different styles too, but the whole LAOTW part 2 thing kinda didnt help scooter in the charts, so well, and the only reason it reached 2 in germany was becaase of all the hyped antisipation it received, being the follow up to JAOTW scooters finest hour in terms of chart success, the follow up the scooters world domination of rising jump, the whole antisipation of a new album since 2007, but after its release it got all bad comments for being a rip of hardstyle and to much the same as JAOTW

so hopfully we get a massive improvement on the new album, we already know it wont be jump/hardstyle so that is one BIG step in the right direction, having an album like that again coulf possibly destroy scooter for good, i hope the new album, whatever the style has a little more creativeness and varity, cause if it dont, i can see it going bad again for scooter

Once in a lifetime any artist, actor, singer, writer or band has a creative crisis when nothing new is on their mind and they vainly try to make smth good. I guess Scooter's crisis have started in 2005 with WGTLLN, and the guys did their best on TUAO, combining and revising on it everything they'd learnt since 1994, but the peak of crisis comes with the JAOTW. JAOTW is a very unusual and completely unexpected thing and there's such a feeling they worked on it ostensibly two days with some false inspiration. The worst thing is that they got the jumping album very successful in UK! As for my opinion the real cause of their number 1 is their long absence there and if they had have released UTROT in UK in 2008, it would have got the same success.

So if the peak of their creative crisis is JAOTW, then it will be slowly but surely going down with every new album and I believe the new one is gonna take us higher than UTROT did.

Personally I consider UTROTT to be far inferior to JAOTW. On initial inspection, both albums are cheap attempts to cash in on popular trends in the dance music scene. However JAOTW had at least some standout tracks like TQIWITQ and JAOTW which will stand the test of time, as well is a killer instrumental in the form of Lighten Up The Sky. To me UTROTT lacks any standout tracks save for perhaps The Sound Above My Hair, although I'm not too fond of this song. The instrumentals, what few there are, are crappy and most of the tracks sound the same with the same synth effects, basedrum and that tiresome autotune.

I consider the worst album to be No Time To Chill. I virtually never listen to anything of this album. Call Me Manana is personally the only one I can stand to listen to all the way through, and even then the single version is a massive improvement over the original.

Close behind NTTC is WGTLLN. Both singles from this album I think are pretty bad, combined with a lot of pretty poor album filler. The album's saving grace for me is Mezmorized, and See Me, Feel Me and Privalegd to Witness aren't too bad either, but I would've preffered the vocals without the chipmunk effect on these tracks. The rest of the album is forgettable as far as I'm concerned.

Ah what the hell, here are my bottom five for the record
NTTC
WGTLLN
UTTROT
Age of Love
Sheffield (I still like this album)

Anyway I'd prefer to focus on the positive, and I have high hopes for the next album. I hope Scooter have learned their lesson with the apparent flop of UTTROT everywhere else bar Germany. I want an album with a lot of variety, some killer trancey instrumentals, fist pumping head thumping singles, and at least a little bit of originality. We already know Scooter can do it, the question is, are they prepared to?

PS forgive the typos but In can't be bothered spell checking this b*stard

Indeed. We better start scouring the net because there's no trusting the official page to be updated with them in a few weeks. Maybe today? Maybe tomorrow? I hope the interviewers have asked the right questions...

Good points kelvo and Scooterjeka. I don't know whether they've had a creative crisis (although one could well argue there was one with JAOTW, as said), although of course that is possible, but the main problem to me is that the guys want to use all those samples and melodies that are played ad nauseam. I don't know whether they understand or not that the majority of people don't want to hear something like Stuck On Replay or See Your Smile. Granted, the tracks vary from the originals as day differs from night, but the problem is of course the familiarity of the melody and the horrible chorus. Had they done -- and I don't doubt their ability at all -- those tracks with the HP vocals and sounds they have there now, but instead made different melodies -- as said, I'm 100% sure they can do still do that when even I can -- and made new choruses, the tracks would have been absolute bombs. Sigh. I hope they try, just for the sake of trying if for no other reason, not to use such well-known melodies and make up their own, on this new album. On the other hand, I guess it's sort of formidable that they do not try to change and do exactly as they want to do, whether the public or the fans like it or not. :D That's of course what artists should do... But still... :D

Anyway, I think UTROTT is a fine album, the sound is great, and it has a lot variation again, nice experiments with HP's vocals, and songs like Ti Sento, State Of Mind, The Sound Above My Hair, and Second Skin really stand out!

But as has been pointed out, the quality instrumentals have been scarcer in this chapter (b-sides still rock) -- I hope we'll see more of those. And just fearless experimentation with the sound, no formulas, and no annoying sampling of the most horrible tracks. I think they actually go through much more work and trouble to search and find the fitting choruses and melodies when they could easily just fill the missing pieces with their own ideas. But as said, this is the method they seem to cherish. Oh, and to mention, UTROTT had some interesting sampling -- like the piece of Within Temptation in State Of Mind: I would never have expected to see that one. If they have to sample, they should sample from completely different genres and styles, like that one is.
 This is a signature.

I know Scooter said they're moving away from their old style, but I'd love to hear a track in this style:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky86MG0uzJQ

Sort of 80's meets 2010 ;)

heh, more like Scooter meets Technoboy...maybe it's his parody of Scooter's style, or has he started copying it? :P
We started in 1994....in 2012 we're still on the case!!!

Without reading last replies or comments about new album, that´s what i think about the next album will be:

As HP has said it will have so many surprises, i say that he always has said the same, so...
I think it would be similar in a way to Sheffield or TUAO, no in the way of the music style, i´m talking about the "experimental" fact, let´s hope this time it works...maybe it´s time to release some track like "white wedding" perfomance on Inas show, or Summer wine, i´m not sure about a CTN remastering, but some new-new-new wave :D style could be nice...i think it´s time to leave out the Jumpstyle, and continue a bit with the hardstyle (Scarborough reloaded, JAH). I wish they go on again with the hard trance, but if they want to do something new it´s so hard they´ll do it...

so...

Epic voices like the poetry of SOR live, no pitched voice but nikk voice again, hard beats to be fixed with the pyros on stage and the surprises, don´t forget the surprise...

Scooter are very good at making surprises not caring whether the surprises are good or bad. :D The next album will be a surprise for sure

@bigswano: you poited some good fact to consider. But the question is not that "are they prepared?" Because i'm sure that they are capable with a lot of creative potential. My questions are: Do they want to create something massive to blow the fans and everyone? Or, they will countinue with jump/hardstyle (or any other new sh!t trend) like a money hunter band?

Scooter are certainly capable to creat unique tracks, when one looks at Scooter musical history up to now....but there are for sure some moments when the ideas aren't there, but the demand for an album is there... so sometimes it might not be possible to be creative for all I know....but still, if the ideas aren;t there, than better wait a year extra to make it....but sadly the music industry works different, and hasn't so much "time" ....and nowedays commercialism is needed to atleast still be able to sell a few CD's .... but that trend isn't a good one, I have to admit, but less and less bands can escape from it. I think Scooter could escape from it, but maybe they consider that to risque for all I know ... really difficult.
But still the "trend" album UTROTT is really one of my favourite Scooter albums of all time, so for me this "trend" following doesn;t nescesarry mean a bad thing, because even when Scooter follow trends, they addapt the sound to themselves, and yet all is very recognisable as a Scooter track ;) ... but ofcourse I prefer Scooter to be a trend setter than to be a trend follower ;)

UTROTT wasn't really trend-foollowing. They tried to establish jumpstyle/hardstyle in the commercial music scene. With JAOTW they were successful, but other bands who tried to come up with jumpstyle weren't that successful (e. g. Starsplash with "Cold as ice 2007"). With UTROTT Scooter followed a similar, but harder and darker style, but this time they couldn't really repeat JAOTW's success. Instead of jumpstyle/hardstyle house music conquered the commercial music scene ("Alors on Dance", David Guetta's songs, "We no speak Americano", the Discoboys, fedde le grande...). So house is the trend now.
But nevertheless I hope Scooter won't follow to that trend and go there own way (house doesn't fit to the typical Scooter attributes - euphoric, emotional, fast and hard tracks). With tracks like Maria, Posse or One they didn't follow to a certain trend and were very successful with it. In some cases they even created trends or made them popular (the "dub dub" is used by a lot of artists, after "Posse"the hpv-tracks had their revival)

575

Wednesday, September 22nd 2010, 12:37am

they certanly did, but i can see scooter following a trend, to me scooter chould try to bring back trance, one of dances more mature and popular styles that has the ability to offer great synths

i hope we get these intervies soon and i hope they bring good news too

now i woulf like to point out that hp said himself that scooter are not doing jump and hardstyle nowbut moving on to a new style
wether he ment a new new style or just a new change of style

as said if scooter follow a trendthe house is innow, but it to me is getting old and all this dub step is in and the like.
and i to think house is to soft for scooter, but a track or two wont be bad

also an experimental album would go well, give time to see what fits well and time to pursue a new idea in the future

i wonder what we will get, the album art, bonus material etc----at least we could asume that a singles collection is out of the collection

I like JAOTW because there are some earworm tracks on it (e. g. JAOTW, T?) and it has a high degree of easiness and happiness (maybe because of its simplicity?). UTROTT seemes so "forced" to me [hört sich für mich so "gezwungen" an]. You had success with the last album and you want to repeat that success as good as possible. So what are you going to do? You look for a style that is similar to the previous style and produce an album full with it. If you don't have a lot of ideas for a whole album and not enough knowledge about the style you take elements from DJs that are into that style. The result: An album that is full of rippings and that seems like a repetition of the previous album with a few improvements/differences. So for the next album: take your own inspirations/ideas and make sth. you want to make without following to a certain techno style or scene. TSTE had ripped tracks too, but it was not that huge amount and the sound of it was pure Scooter sound (that had elements of different styles like dance and trance, even a bit hardstyle) and no imitation/Scooter version of a certain techno style.

JAOTW was indeed a great album, but I liked the sound of UTROTT better. Where the Beats is my favourite Scooter track, and UTROTT really has some great pieces.

I do hope they become more unique though, they're really throwing away the credibility they had with serious producers.

I like JAOTW, especially Cambodia. But again, on this album the HPV is overused, and The Question & And No Matches sound the same. Though I like ANM much more than TQIWITQ. And Neverending Story...Damn, it's an awesome track, without the HPV (no comment about it)
UTROTT is much better. The only thing I don't like on it, is the ripping.
By the way, where is that interview? X( If it's really scheduled before the Finland concert, it will be on the internet one second before the concert starts, I think.

Neverending Story is probably JAOTW's finest track, I think. JAOTW could've been much better with a bit of extra work. It's a strange album -- at times I feel it's the worst Scooter album, yet at the same time it has many tracks I really like.

Yeah, damn, I keep checking the forum every hour for those interviews! They really should be here soon... Maybe I should stay away a day or two, that has worked before, big news have come while I've been away. :D

That's exactly how I feel about the JAOTW album too....sometimes I love it, and sometimes I don't like it that much....a really "strange" album to give such divers feelings on a given time. ;) ....In the beginning I rather disliked the JAOTW album, and than towards the tour in 2008 I started to like it better, and it grew further on me, and by summer 2008 I loved it :D .... and now I hardly listen to it again....
But for me the 2008 release, JAOTW-WYW, is the album that JAOTW in 2007 should have been. We got an epic version of I'm lonely on this 2008 edition + the great new version of Lighten Up The Sky + a great extra track JTR (WYW) and a far cooler coverpic and everything. So JAOTW-WYW is the album JAOTW wanted to be, but because of lack of time, wasn't ;) .... so when I listen to JAOTW, I take always the WYW-edition from 2008 ;)
