I've always stopped at the A+O hostel (Reeperbahn) as its cheap, quite decent and close to the nightlife.

Not sure yet, it is easy to reach by public transport
I usually stay near to the station because its a good base to get to most parts of Hamburg, its near good shops :), and I usually arrive / depart by train - but not this time as I think Hamburg is the only place we will be visiting on the trip next June :)

I've long since deliberated that I cannot miss out on this one, so I'll be excitingly attending this incredibly gigantic event. I've already began working on an arrangement with another forum member who'll also be present-- partly because I've never actually been to an airport or foreign country before on my own, and the other being my phobia toward air travel. I'm going to need someone to hold my hand and reassure me that everything is going to be alright (I know, I'm such a wuss). I'm not too fussed about getting a seating ticket at the concert, so I plan to just purchase my tickets near the end of the year. I'm not expecting it to sell out so quickly, therefore I don't really feel the need to rush anything just yet. And yeah, it'd be nice to be acquainted with a few other forum members that are interested.


I'll probably give a more detailed description of my travel arrangements once I've figured them out.

I was also very nervous of travelling alone when I went to my first Scooter concert, but I wanted to go so much I overcame my worries :) Now I have no problems travelling anywhere:)
You will love it - the concert will be fantastic!! and Hamburg is an interesting and Beautiful city :)
I will fly EasyJet from Luton if there are any suitable flights, if not I'll look at Ryanair (Ryan fly to Lubeck not Hamburg, but there is an airport bus that takes you to the centre of Hamburg)

Thanks for info about travelling, didn't know if I needed to go to Heathrow or Gatwick.

I'm not traveling by myself, fortunately, as I know that I'd screw up somewhere down the line. I'm actually in the process of devising other arrangements with a fellow forum member and friend, who I plan to accompany on the same vehicle to the airport and the airplane departing to Germany. I don't think I could ever muster up the courage to venture outside of the country without any form of assistance. I mean, even being with someone on a terrifying flight, I'm still going to need to take something to calm my nerves. The support and reassurance that nothing will happen will only do so much to mitigate the horrible concept of going thousands of feet into the air. Although I think the window for any accident is minimized, given the distance from here to Germany-- which I think is only like an hour.


I have been abroad in the past with my family. And I seemed to be okay, expect the first time in which I felt constantly nauseated. But this was like ten years ago. I think this trip will be brilliant for you then, since you've never set foot outside of our country. It'll be quite an experience given that there's plenty to see besides the Scooter concert. I'm looking forward to doing a little exploration around the city.

All but one of my Scooter travels I've done alone -- and most of the time something has gone wrong (getting lost mostly), but I've survived. :D Hamburg and Berlin are a pleasure -- the public transportation is extensive, punctual, and reliable, the airports are good, everything works properly. People can speak English and help, if the need be.

Yeah, I hope to stay a few days in Hamburg on this occasion, some days before and some days after. So if there's a posse meeting in the town a day before the show, I hope to attend!

Haven't ordered my ticket yet, still waiting for the situation to clear up.

It's nice to hear you'll be coming too May. And welcome rayne -- a wicked beard, I wish mine was that good. :thumbup:
