i think scooter wanted the u2 part originally, maybe before the album was released,
pehaps they planned it to be released, but was let down, so as a result they played it live, or they planned it for the tour for a possible release, but copyright has stopped further production of this track

also note tha thte dvd with UTROTT has a interview on all tracks apart from WTB..., i still think WTB could be a possible single, who knows
when scooter had the interview from russian fans they mentioned going back to the studeo so what could they be working on next i wonder, hp did say he very much likes WTB...its kinda like an unknown mystery track

i also think i prefer the album version to the tour version, the hpv scream parts brings that old skool rave feel to me

If this keeps up, I think I'll lose my interest in Scooter... cheap ripped music, and once again, changing tracks by replacing a known melody with a well-known, making themselves unable to release it...

It's for the live experience. It would be pretty damn boring if there weren't these changes. They went to the effort of changing it so that the people there would enjoy it. with their live shows they will want to please the crowd there more than people buying this dvd.

People who went to Hamburg, let me ask you this - would you rather of them not played the new version at all so the dvd would not be cut? I'm sure you would be more pissed if they didn't play it there than not having it on the dvd...

To be honest I think a lot of people are making a big deal out of nothing. So, 1 track has been cut. They obviously had to cut it so stamping your feet and getting angry really will not make things any better. Just be thankful that they are releasing all 20 other tracks (including the instrumentals!) and enjoy it!

By the way - why would they cut down the length of SOR if the full version is a preview on youtube? ?(

Yes, i agree with Will, who the hell said that they will cut SOR too? It's already as a preview on youtube.....what a hell is going on??? Let's not get paranoic...
Yes, i admit, it's a dissapointment, but we had bigger dissapointments too....EEA was cutted even more without any reason, at least now they have a reason....

Are you ignoring the incongruity of their actions though?

Dont see any problems whit WTB been cut of, this was a bounus for all of us paying expensive money for ticket an trip to locations of consert and standing in cue all day. Anyway the orginal from UTROTT is way better :)

And why this complaning about Maria, Nassaja and One? in every que for a consert or every fan interwie everybody is shouting dup dup and so on of corse the crew think this s.hit song is special. Nassaja is one of their greatest and should always be played!!!
Sure i whould love to see a diffrent playlist i whoould love to hear Chaser/Jigga live insted of The Question and JAOTW but what the hell, i was and still is very pleased whit the consert.
why does everybody say the must play stuff from the past when they are a band in the current? i really love their past stuff especially 1 & 2 chapter, but i´m ok whit their setlist.

Classic Nic! Haha.

By the way Nic, I was at work this morning and my iPod was on shuffle and "Follow The Yellow Brick Road" came on. No idea how you can put up with waking up to that every morning... *shudders*

The case is:
AGAIN, overplayed singles like Maria, One and Nessaja.
AGAIN, favouring stuff like JAOTW and JTR, which have been played alot already, over much greater stuff like WTB... and SOM.

It's only the disappointment. Disappointment, because they ALWAYS have to use the overplayed singles. And ALWAYS changing something within the great tracks, so they become unable to release them, even on live dvd's...

It's just natural that they're playing hits like One, Maria or Nessaja on every concert. Sometimes it seems that people here are forgetting that there are not just hardcore fans, who own every single Scooter album and already have been to their shows before, are attending the concerts.

Those singles are simply the songs that the majority of people wants to hear. The people that are actively here on the forum only represent a small percentage of fans. If I only had like 1-3 Scooter albums, but knew all the hits like One or Maria and then attended a concert where they didn't play any of those, I'd be so damn disappionted. Nessaja has been their only #1 single so far and Maria and One simply belong to their most recognisable one. Of course the can't play a show without them.

Songs like that are equally a curse and a blessing. A curse because once they've become those big hits, you can't go without them, meaning you have to play them every show or else people would be disappointed and as in Scooter's case, in the media you only get reduced on those songs. It's like those hits are following you and you can't escape. I don't want to know how many times it happens to HP that when he's in public places, that people are screaming the "dup dup dup"-thing. But on the other hand it's great to have those songs, because even if a concerts doesn't run well, you simply have to play Maria and people are going nuts. Those songs are a guarantee that Scooter won't be forgotten. If you'd go out on the street and randomly ask people for a Scooter song, nearly everyone would do the "dup dup dup" thing or the chorus of One. Even if they don't know the names, but those melodies are just stuck in people's heads. But no one would name an album track or even singles like Back in the UK.

I admit that their setlists have become a bit predictable the last years and I'd love them to also play one or two classic albums tracks or singles that haven't been played that often. But I'm totally fine with them playing One, Nessaja or Maria on every show, even if it's sometimes annoying for the hardcore fans.

Maria, Nessaja and One were absolutely the best tracks played on the tour. I loved every second of hearing them even though I've heard them many times. But that is absolutely no problem. These tracks are huge and I wish they will be played in the future too. ;)

One, Nessaja, and Maria are classic tracks. It isn't a Scooter concert without them :D

Where the Beats had that potential, but sadly copyright got in the way. I still love Scooter and I love the music, and now, I realize that hearing that version on the tour, and being one of the select few to hear this version in good quality, makes that night in Leipzig even more special.

I would have loved to hear it on Live in Hamburg, but the tracklist is great without it ;)

Not really sure what to say! Fantastic post, T!M.

Sometimes I wish the board did consider implementing a reputation system that rewards users for terrific posts like that. It's a rare sight.

Some of their most recognized tracks have always been overrated to me, and it's frustrating to hear crowds of people repeatedly chanting along to a song that really doesn't deserve the limelight as much as some of their other work. Of course, they have to make the sacrifice in order to satisfy the fans that frequently associate Scooter with those seemingly notorious pieces. They'll expect the classics to be performed, so Scooter don't really have much of a choice when it comes to these arguably mandatory expectations.

The repetition still drives me a little up the wall. When you look it from how you've articulated it, I can see how risky it would be for them to abrogate tracks like One, Maria, and even J'adore Hardcore, as the "dub dub dub" like mantra in that it contains has been inevitably been received positively. I suppose eliminating the aforementioned tracks from a German concert would be like forgetting to include Ramp or Nessaja when playing in the UK. That wouldn't go to well. Haha. :P

Maybe in Germany haha. Definitely not here in Australia. People only know "The Logical Song" or haven't heard of Scooter at all.

Better than in the USA. People only know the Scooter sound from "Nessaja", as it opened "Bruno".

But the point is the same. Maria, The Logical Song, and Nessaja, all classics. I did miss the Logical Song on the tour, but it was such a great tracklist I didn't really mind anyway ;)

Thanks alot May :) Your post says it all, it really can be frustrating.

yea, of course I forgot Hyper Hyper and How Much Is The Fish. Especially Hyper Hyper belongs to the most famous Scooter songs in Germany next to Maria and One. It probably even is their most famous song here and futhermore probably has some kinda special status to the guys as it's been their first official single.

Let's hope so, because I don't want more songs to be left away from the DVD, one song missing is enough .....
