Hmm, now my German is not as good as I would like it to be, but I think this chap is telling us that there is a campaign to get Blümchen's "Boomerang" single to No 1 in the German singles chart, instead of the latest song from DSDS?

If so, you got my support, this is great news. Jasmine is a goddess of Nineties dance music and definitely deserves No 1!!!

yes, you're right. Basically it's the same campaign like there was in the UK at the end of last year, where RATM's "Killing in the name of" was the #1 instead of the X-Factor winner song. That's what the campaign wants to achieve.

IMO it'd be so awesome if "Boomerang" would make it on #1, but I don't think it's going to. The campaign just doesn't have the huge support as there was in the UK. Maybe it's also the wrong song. I know that there were various songs which should be in the campaign. Including songs from Tenacious D and Led Zepplin's "Stairway to heaven", but I think "Boomerang" just got the most attention.

But as I've been a huge Blümchen fan as a young child, it's awesome to see that she's going to be back in the charts again, even if it's just because of this campaign. And even if she's not going to be the #1, it's simply awesome to see that she's on #2 in the amazon mp3-charts and also high in the iTunes-charts

Ah I see, well Blümchen back anywhere in the Top 10 would be great enough for me. Particularly if she could be persuaded to come out of semi-retirement and do a bit of promo herself for it!!! :P Mind you, they said that "Killing In The Name" would never get to No 1 in the UK media until the actual day when it did, so you never know, if there is enough support, it is amazing what the power of the Internet can do these days. 8)

Right now she's #3 on the mp3-charts on amazon.de. Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to heaven" is now on #1 and the DSDS winner is on #2.

Oh and I just saw that it's Jasmin's birthday today, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASMIN :)

Well, if you told me a couple of days ago that Jasmin would be No 3 in the chart all of a sudden, I wouldn't believe it!! Is there anywhere those outside Germany can download the track and help it count in the chart that counts?

And happy birthday Jasmin!! Isn't she 30 this year I think, a big one! :)

I don't think so. But I'm not so experienced, so who knows, maybe there's a possibility.

Yes, she's turning 30 today. Really a big one. :) It seems so strange that it's already 15 years ago that she started her career as Blümchen. Damn, she was 15 back then and now she's 30...how time flies by... :)

Gosh, Blümchen aged 30 ... how time flies, I can remember when she was just 15!!

:D I just edited my post and wrote the same you did. But yea, she was 15 when she started as Blümchen and now it's 15 years later. I can still remember how sad I was when I hear that she'd stop releasing records as Blümchen :D

Yes, it was sad when she stopped as Blümchen, although her best tracks by far were the earlier ones. But I just wonder whether Jasmin will make any TV appearances or dare I say, even do a performance or two, because of this new promotion for her??

She stopped at the end of 2000. But yea, I think she stopped at the right time. Although I also really liked her later stuff, but it just wasn't as successful as in the beginning and it was clear that she was growing out of Blümchen. So I really respect it that she stopped it at that point.

Don't know if she'll make any TV promotion, but I don't think so. Maybe a short interview here and there but nothing special. I read a short article yesterday about this campaign and the chance that she could be the new #1. Her statement was "I'm watching this right now and I find it very exciting and amusing". But right now she's become more of an actress than a singer. I think she's playing theater and hosting a show on a kids channel here in Germany right now. Her last album was released 2006. But today I read an article about her being 30 now and she said that in the future she'll for sure release something new.

I have been talking with someone tonight who is part of the Facebook page campaigning for Blümchen. She says that unfortunately only people in Germany can download on German sites for it to count in the charts but she is very pleased people outside Germany are following their campaign. :)

Yep, I think Blümchen had, and maybe still has, a huge fanbase outside Germany. Especially in France and the Scandinavian countries she was pretty successful.

After Blümchen she made some solo tracks as Jasmin Wagner and released an album, but it's totally different, no dance but more pop/rock, but sounds great. I still buy all the Jasmin Wagner stuff, I keep on being a fan of her ;) But I was shocked to read she;s turning 30 already, how time flies... I also remember when she was just 15 years old ;)
