The Next Album

:D I think it's somewhat relevant to start this topic, once again! Here's an interesting part from the interview (and once again I have to say, great job TRP!) the Russian posse had with Scooter:

Quoted

RSP: Our next question is about your next album. Will it be in a Jumpstyle, Hardstyle, or we can expect something new?
H.P.: Oh, we still don't know yet. We're going to start to work on a new material... m-m-m-m... I think next month.
RSP: Many people want Scooter to do more old school Hardcore and Rave stuff like Hyper Hyper, Move Your Ass. Can you see yourself as a real Hardcore producers in the future? Maybe something like Crank it Up? Something more underground?
H.P.: We like the hard stuff and we like Trance tunes. So it depends on ideas. Which ideas you have and how you feel. Our last albums was really harder than before. I'm sure we'll do this stuff again in a way, but maybe we'll try it in another style.
RSP: We heard many suggestions from the ravers who want you to re-release some of your old stuff like ...And The Beat Goes On! but in new version.
H.P.: OK...
Rick: We sometimes do it live...
H.P.: Yeah, live, we have some special versions.
Rick: I think it will make no sense to re-release them like BBE or Three Drivers doing it with their tracks almost every year.
H.P.: But we could do something like a bonus remix album. That would be an idea. Yes, yes, maybe we'll do this.

The most important detail being, of course, that they'll start to work on new material probably next month! I think it's possible we'll get a new album this winter, if all goes well. :D Hehe, wicked.

I doubt that we will get an album this year, spring 2011 is more likely ;) It's always exciting to speculate, but right now I have no clue what style Scooter could do ;) I hope for something UTROTT-ish, because I do love this album, and the hardstyle influence on it

I agree with Ed. There won't be a new album in 2010. Maybe a new single or two but not a whole album. Early 2011 I'd say.

same here. I'm one of those patient fans who can wait longer for a better album. I hope they will take their time to release a better album than UTROTT :!: I think 04.2011 would be ok....for Scooter. They should think a little bit....QUALITY MATTERS. Who cares if they release 10 albums/year, and all is 100% ripped and cheesy...
I would be a bigger dreamer than Ozzy Osbourne to think that the new album will be 100% original. I'm not against ripping/covering, i'm used to this....and I accepted the way Scooter works from the beggining but....the album should be 60-70% own creation and the rest ripped + covers AND EVERY RIPPED PIECE SHOULD BE FROM OLD TRACKS NOT NEW TRACKS GOD DAMMN IT. FOR SURE WE DON'T WANT ANOTHER SCANDAL LIKE IT WAS WITH TECHNOBOY

That's a fact ;) But I ask myself, did Scooter want this scandal on purpose ??? Because they very well knew IMO that the track would start a big scandal :S Was it done for extra media attention ???

I totally agree with that ;) But the problem is that quality doesn't get you in the news, scandals do, but quality should be the main point, not a scandel, yes ;)

yea, I also don't think they did it because of media attraction, because apart from this forum, youtube comments and maybe other dance forums I've never heard anything about it: nothing in magazines, TV or something else. And I also wouldn't expect to read something about this in magazines or see an report about this on Viva. It's just something that only people know who are in the dance scene or familiar with Scooter.

When it comes to release dates, it's actually the same situation as in 2002/2003. Back then Encore was released in May 2002 and the next album TSTE was released in spring 2003, so I guess that's the way it's also going to be this time. At least I'm hoping for it. I don't need a new album this year. Next spring would be perfect.

Maybe you guys are right, I got a bit too excited with the news. :D Indeed, it might be it won't be out until next year. Most important to me is to know they will be in the studio soon, making new tracks. ;)

As for the style, no idea, and seems even the guys have no idea yet. I like UTROTT, so more hardstyle could be nice, but I think it'll be something different once again, as usually. I too would like a few songs in the WBTN! and TSTE styles. I would love them to try aggrotech -- I know it's probably a bit far-fetched idea -- but I always thing Scooter would sound awesome with aggrotech sound. For example, listen to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCzE5-JctUs I'd love to hear HP chants over a background that has elements harsh and soft, like in this song.

Oh, and I don't consider that Technoboy case a scandal -- they did it because they wanted to. If there's a "scandal" in Scooter history then it's probably the TSTE era music videos. :P

Well, whatever they do I hope it will be not another hardstyle, jumpstyle-album or another concept-album. I was never a friend of hardstyle and I don't listen to UTROTT very much. It's very average for my taste.
I think, they are a lot better in doing this trance/electro/scooterish-stuff then hardcore-tracks. A mixture of styles, like on other albums before, would be good. But it's only a guess.
And I think it doesn't matter if they work 5 month on a album or 24. They always said that that the most songs of an album built up in a very short time close to the deadline. The work on UTROTT takes more than 12 months, but it's not better like other albums they create in shorter time.
If they will start the work in April or May they could release another album this year...maybe in the end of November with the time of 7 months. That should be enough, isn't it? The most of other Artists don't work longer on their albums than a couple of month, except Kraftwerk, who works a couplke of YEARS on a new Album.
Don't have to be beautiful...but it helps

However, I'd also like another "Stadium Techno Experience" type album ;)

It would definitely be enough for them, that's why I thought we might get a 2010 album. Our Happy Hardcore and Wicked! both appeared in 1996; and many, me included, think Wicked! is one of their best albums -- I agree that spending a long time on an album doesn't necessarily make it any better. Many times great stuff is done in a short time and impulsively. Once they get to the studio they can easily get a great album done before this year is over. And as said, they've indeed said they work the harder the closer the deadline gets, and I would imagine they won't need more than few months when they're in creative state. Once again, the only thing to do is to wait and see. :D But I just hope we'll get a new one this year, because I can't get enough of their music.

We also had TUAO and JAOTW in 2007...and the latter went on to huge success. Even though we're at the next point in the 4-year cycle of not releasing an album (2002, 2006, 2010?) I think we'll get one anyway, in Oct/Nov as usual.
We started in 1994....in 2012 we're still on the case!!!

Yeah, a new hardstyle album will be good...as long as it's not jumpstyle, they can even make house or rap :P

It's all about the ideas. One can work 2 year's on an album, and it will end up worse than an album that's made in 6 months, when one hasn't got the right ideas.

Knowing Scooter's history, everything is possible, and we might even get an album in the end of 2010, if they have the right ideas and the production proces will go smooth, but more likely it will be spring 2011, but still this year is also possible, hard to tell really, but one thing is sure -> we will get a new album
