JAOTW was up against Madonna, Duffy, Portishead, Sam Sparrow to name a few. These are HUGE acts who sold millions last year. For Scooter to out-sell these artists was not luck, nor was it a clever realease date... it was down to the fact it was promoted well.
Given the tremendous momentum that Jumping All Over The World precipitated when it was certified Platinum in the UK sales and charts, could the lack of promotion be explained by the assumption at AATW that this new album would automatically climb the charts riding on JAOTW? After the remarkable prestige that that album obtained, you'd think anything produced by Scooter would reach the level of sales and success that JAOTW managed to accomplish. Maybe instead of doing business on a set of wishful presumptions AATW should initiate a greater level of promotion to turn this all around.
In that case, objurgating AATW on UTROTTs poor sales figures in the UK is entirely justified by their negligence to promote the album sufficiently enough so as to raise awareness of its availability on British soil? Splendid. I didn't think we were being unreasonable when we pointed this out a few pages back. I'm still convinced that AATW are relying on the success of JAOTW to initialize a gradual proliferation of album sales- a plan of which is clearly backfiring. I still haven't seen a single bit of promotion. I rarely ever watch Clubland TV, but I do watch some of the most popular shows on UK television; the perfect opportunity to capitalize on advertising if you ask me, and that hasn't happened to the degree where it can truly make an impact. I'd like to say give it time... There's got to be a limit though. Who would you say the key demographic is? If it's a teenage audience you're looking to attract, there a number of great slots that could be monopolized to their advantage. It's not rocket science.

However, clearly promotion should be prioritized more than anything else to at least ensure the new album doesn't go down without a fight. Scooter deserve that little bit of popularity again. Their come back was far too minuscule to even qualify as a 'come back'-- AATW should be picking up on this. Get it together guys!

You see Dom, that's why I like having you here. You have a level head
To tell you the truth, I'm still flabbergasted by reception that the album received here. Why didn't the TSTE achieve such a grand level of prestige? Purely based on quality alone, The Stadium Techno Experience trumps the quality of Jumping All Over The World without subjective intervention. Putting the disproportionate amount of promotion to one side, JAOTW should never have been aggrandized in my opinion. If it had brought back Scooter, then maybe I would have felt a little differently. Seeing UTROTT flunk like this just reinforces my belief that this album was astronomically lucky in attaining its certifiable platinum status. It's almost as if Scooter are being misrepresented-- if that makes sense? If there success is to based around anything, then it should be fortified around the latest release. While it isn't the greatest album to be distributed by the guys, it still kicks allot of ass!

On reflection, I can agree there were some lucky breaks that contributed to the success of JAOTW, BUT... I don't think it would have sold half as many copies if it weren't advertised on TV when it was. As good as the package and price was if people didn't know about it they wouldn't buy it. We had a similar discussion with TQIWITQ.
Indeed. Actually, given that a large quantity of the sales that are based around the success of Jumping All Over The World, I think without the promotion that that album would have done horrendously. If that hadn't made gold or platinum, UTROTT probably wouldn't have even been shipped. What would of been the point after all? Fortunately, AATW have something really grand to work on here, but they are failing in every respect to capitalize on the magnificent recognition that they received with the JAOTW album. Could this be an issue of finance? I honestly don't know how to reconcile this any more.

I have a feeling that if JAOTW had the same type of promotion that
UTROTT had it would have sold similar quantities. 8000 units isn't
exactly a big number, that's a small town. This album certainly doesn't
have the momentum to get an award which really grinds my gears. I like
JAOTW but this new album makes the last look pathetic (but there's
still a few I love).
No harm done! If you had have seen it, this discussion wouldn't have evolved.
