Both are pretty weak and lame for supposedly Hardstyle tracks.
Slipping sideways, silver stars collide
And fade away just like our love that died
And there is nowhere in this universe to hide

They're pretty good hardstyle tracks for being made by Scooter, imo. As they haven't tried this genre until now.

Scarborough Reloaded FTW!

OT:
And well, perhaps it's good "scooter happy hardstyle" but for "real" hardstyle it's not optimal. When listening to hardstyle I prefer stuff like Tuneboy, The Raiders or Speedwave (just in case you needed some inspiration) or if you don't like it that hard: K-Traxx (my #3 right after Scooter and Paffendorf)

How? Please give reasons. Both of these songs under a different artist name could easily get onto a hardstyle compilation disk. Believe me, there's a lot of cra'p on those disks, these two would certainly make things a little stronger. Admittedly not as good as the likes of Headhunterz and Technoboy etc. but certainly very strong. No idea how you can say that they're weak.

I love the HPV, it's among the best ones ever.
Yeah! It's so sweet
Agreed.

Cute would be the optimal word in my view. I find that the HPV has a greater level of loveability than it does in Affair, which is still audibly sensual mind you. Lucullus has been overrated in my estimation-- a track no better than some of my personal favourites, such as Circle of Light and Sunrise (Ratty's Inferno). Labelling it of bad quality though would be facetious. I'm a little interested to see an explanation for those attributing it to 'weakness'. I think both of them come across as pretty powerful, irrespective of their palatability or intrinsic qualities.

Give me the sound - to see
Another world outside that’s full of
All the broken things that I made

Just give me a life to bleed
Another world outside that’s full of
All the awful things that I made

2008: It's Not Over (Phew!)
2008: Self Control (#59 German Top 100)
2009: Bring It Back ("The Hitmen Remix" of this one is the best Track EVER, if you ask me)
2009: Discover

I hope for an Album next year :D

You're right. It's just like with Jumpstyle too many Trashbin Tracks. And the major problem is that most people even say that Scooter is still doing Jumpstyle atm, though the major Jumpstyle elements (like missing Bassline) are missing (happy melodies are NOT Jumpstyle-only).

The only thing I don't like about Scarborough Reloaded is that the main melody part only happens once, whereas it is used twice in Lucullus, so my vote is for Lucullus which I think is better overall.

Well, dear sir, I used to listen to a lot of Hardstyle, before even half of the forum knew what Hardstyle is.
So I can asure you that the standart Dutch Hardstyle is what makes this style so special, and Scooter are trying their best, to achieve a track that is honorable enough to be successful in such style.
Although so far they failed, but there were some moments of brilliance also, I guess that's just Scooter!

Maybe you could say HOW they "failed" in making hardstyle.

As we all know, Scooter has a unique ability to make the genres they use, special. For example, there's jumpstyle, and there's Scooter-jumpstyle.
IMO, to add.
I think they've made a good try to make hardstyle, though SR and Lucullus is IMO more close into the real hardstyle than the album tracks are.

I'm not a Hardstyle expert, but I consider it a good hardstyle track if I compare it to some hardstyle tracks I heared over the past few months. And it's the most important for me that I like the song, it doesn't really matter what style it fits to, it's the song that is important, and as a song I really like Lucullus, especially played at high volume. :)

You're actually right!
Every genre they tried so far, was Scooterized (lol) in a way.
For example, they tried something like Trance during most of the 3rd chapter - but it still wasn't pure Trance, it was Scooter Trance.

I love Lucullus but I wish that Scooter won't continue with hardstyle after this album... I don't know but it's getting irritating after many listenings. I mean for me. Ok, some people seem to love hardstyle but it ain't for me really...

Though I must say that Axel Coon's tracks, like Lamenting City and Mayday clubmixes, are much more of pure hardstyle than anything Scooter have made.

most of the time your critics are ok but this time u are overreacting. Even if i'm not a hardstyle expert,in the last year i've heard a lot of hardstyle tracks produced by the best hardstyle acts (Zany,Headhunterz,Showtek,Tatanka... And comparing to all those this 2 b-sides are quite decent. This 2 instrumentals should be on UTROTT,they are way better than Clic Clac for example ;)
