DID SCOOTER HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ACS:LAW LETTERS??

Dear Scooter,

First i want to say sorry about my english language, im not english, but i live in england, and my english spelling is not the best.

I would like to know, did that for real??? Did Scooter made claim for downloading scooter - jumping all over the world?
Company ACS:Law Solicitors (http://wwww.acs-law.org.uk/ Andrew J.Crossley 18 Hanover square, London, W1S 1HX, Tel: 02071932493, Fax: 02079909099) sending thousands of letters to anyone in the UK saying that they did downloaded scooter - jumping all over the world(cd2).rar and must pay £500 for that, if no, they give it to court. I never did downloaded that file, but i got letter to!!! I want to know it's that real?? i tried to contact them by post. I send them letter saying that i did nothing wrong and i never downloaded that file, but they ignored me and sended me second letter, and now i got thirds letter, saying that i must pay £500 per 21 days,if not i go to the court!!!
So,i go to the court if that necessary,i do not afraid, cause i done nothing against the law, but i need more information,i really need to know if that is something to do with scooters band or they just using your name for blackmailing peoples to get easy money???

Yours sincerely
G.I.

What? 8| This is ridiculous - this company is sending letters to people, claiming them for download of this file, and demanding them to pay £500 for it, or be sued?
This must be some kind of bad joke...

Do you not remeber this from before, Traxx?

We were disscusing a couple of days before the news about UTROTT - I was looking for the thread as there was advice for people in this situation yet it has gone.

@Gedis,

A quick google shows this - http://beingthreatened.yolasite.com/portal.php

I hope you find this usefull - it's the only thing that I know which could possibly help you. It's not right that this is happening to people like you...

Hm, I think I remember something similar, but not as clear and heavy as this - £500, wtf :pinch:

Please refresh my memory.

It was almost exactly the same as the last time - same law company, same threats, and about the same ammount of money. I found this link (I sent an email to AATW asking them about it, I just found it in my sent box)

http://boo2scooter.yolasite.com/

This would give them such a bad name. I thought this ended a while ago, but it clearly hasnt.

i did contacted Douglas Hogg, and they sendeed letter to acs:law about my letters, and they got replay for them, that i have no evidence that im not guilty, and they still gonna give me to the court. Douglas Hogg recommended to me get a lawyer as soon as possible, but where the hell i can get money to get a lawyer? did anyone know good and not expensive IT lawyer?

They said you have no evidence you are not guilty? Well, they have to prove that you are guilty, not you to prove that you aren't. But I think this whole thing is really ridiculous.

I opened this topic before, it has nothing to do with Scooter. It was all over the internet, made it to TV too. It's just some law firm scamming people.

ignore them. They won't persue it, even if they do you can just claim that you didn't do it. It's happened before, just ignore them!

It's all about money, they hope that someone is stupid enough to pay the "fine". I'm sure most of us have gotten, or at least heard of, Nigerian scam emails, where they want you to send them some money in exchange for a lot of money.
you sir, are an idiot

offending meaning, it is an offense to publish these videos. If you don't own them you have no right to publish/distribute. Personal use only i think is their message.

I understood that, I just don't see what's "offending" with those vids. But if they're illegally uploaded, it doesn't really matter whether they're legal or not.

These were, at the Castle of Wernigerode, homemade photos and video. I made it to show how good the atmosphere was there.

Sorry Arve, this is a word with dual meaning. Offensive can means something that offends you personally. But in LAW offense means doing something not allowed. For example, it is an offense to swear in a public place in England. That's what i think is meant by this.
