success in other countries certainly plays a part in the voting i'm sure. the german press used the uk#1 thingy as a selling point for the releases this year.

If remember correctly it was only michael simon who was mentioned as producer.

No, also the same nicknames were mentioned that were mentioned on the Ratty releases + Michael Simon as an extra addition....so all members of Scooter had something to do with it.

It's cool that they're nominated for an Echo! :D
And I for sure hope that they'll win it... About Ich & Ich....
Well they really are successful in Germany but I doubt that they'll win. As long as Tokio Hotel is not nominated Scooter have a big chance to win that award!! :D

scooter have good chances
2008 was a great year for scooter

regular way they would have no chance, but yeah if you release every few months anothersingle like Scooter or last album again in 3 editions only some months later and so on... no other artist is doing so much releases in such short time like Scooter because they have to work on their music some time before they can release real new stuff and not just want release another quick made standard rip-off crap just to earn some quick money again with posse
I hope they won't win because they just try to push their sales high with cheap fake bonus Limited fan editions and sharing tracks on several releases instead putting stuff on 1 cd just because money making like hands on Scooter... they didn't deserve a echo with this way of cheating fans and pushing sales higher like they are in real!

It is only thing of a fan to buy or not. And you see what way most of them chose
And don't forget, that the tour in 2008 was really successful!

If you saw the Echo awards in the past and the winners in such categories, I wonder a lot about some winners and their selection criteria.
I think more than only the sales figures influences the selection.

the echo awards will be given by two influences:
- sales
- how long the artist was in the Top 10 (single / album)
