i found out something quite interesting from one of my dads friends who is a manager at HMV, he said that silver, gold and platinum sales do not denote how many copies have been sold, but how many copies that have brought into shops for sale, apparently they all go off a sort of averages chart and that will tell them which records are in high demand....strange, but still cool at the same time

...can anybody verify this?
