Songs you think have been ruined

Post what songs you have loved in the past and then found out someone had done a remake of it that completely ruins the original... I'm not directing this at Scooter by the way but if you have one from them post it!

Today I heard a techno version of "Money For Nothing" originally from the Dire Straights. The new version was absolute crap.

My fav track of all time has also been remade. "Masterplan" by Dyewitness has been remade by Discotronic. They ruined the track. There's no way that song can be remade better than the original already is....

There are many songs which were better as original... Like Sweet Dreams.. The version of Marilyn Manson (is he written like this?) is just awful. Or "Girl You know it's true" by Lemon Ice.. Bah!

Everyone knows Dragostea Din Tei from 2003-2004. It was a huge hit at the time. How many have heard the new version; Alina - When You Leave (Numa Numa)? IMO it's horrible! So f-ing cheesy it makes cheese like DJ Sammy - Heaven sound like a masterpiece! The lyrics are just awful, and the whole song is just AAAAAAAAAHGH!

O-Zone's version is much better :lol:

It's classic, bands who tries to make success with their own version of a megahit, but often,their version is nothing but cr*p.
It is a reason why the original is a great song, and great songs can't be re-made to a better version.

Scooter can do it, but no one else :lol:

I love Dragostea Din Tei! :D Loved that. :lol: So much, it was huge in the UK ages ago. But that version is tosh, utter. Not impressed at all, Basshunter just annoys me. Really does.

The version of Logical Song by the Rave Allstars on the same compilation CD as Imaginary Battle last year was rubbish too, I was amazed at that.

In general, covering songs is a risky business. I like remixed more modern versions though, but not of tracks by Michael Jackson for example, he should never be covered. Nor shouled Elvis.

basically anything that the X Factor contestants sing :lol: or various other ridiculously crap tv shows like that deem ok to broadcast :lol: , i think one of the worst covers ive ever head was Michael Jacksons 'Beat It' which was recently covered by Fall Out Boy...in my opinion the worst band in the world :roll: :lol:

Agree with you on this one. The first one is amazing, the second is not exactly crap, but they really should have left the lyrics out of it.
