May your father have full recovery as soon as possible.

Hasn't the river already got some of your I-pods? or am I wrong?

Sandra, I can't tell you how sad I am to hear that about your father. :( I wish I were better with words, I might have been able to say something to try and make you feel better, but I'm sorry, I can't think of anything to say. However, I do wish him a speedy recovery and I know that having you by his side will have helped him today.

My bad thing is that I'm in love/slightly obsessed with a girl who just considers me to be a friend. I can't get past thinking about her as being a future girlfriend/wife. I'm wallowing in self pity and I feel very lonely at the moment.

We've been talking for 3 years, she knows I love her and she knows I would happily move to her village to be with her, but she doesn't like me like that, and she doesn't see a long term future for us. I think she's somewhat suprised how much I like her, she's not been used to it in her life and probably I scare her! Just through loving her, ironic, no? :|

Thanks guys - and Ninja Elephant - I hope either her feelings will change - maybe she just needs time; or I hope that you find someone who can appreciate your love and return it soon, it sounds like you have a lot of love to give to the right person

that truly is a tough one. i think the best thing to do is stay really good friends for now and one day she will realise that you could be the best thing that ever happened to her.

you may want to distance yourself from her as well, not too far to threaten a friendship but to make her think about you more often, if a future still seems unlikely, you may have to move on.

it depends on how long you want to wait, i'm in a similar situation to you. i've been friends with someone for years who lives 300 miles away from me and love dearly. one day though, one day...

Thank you, Sandra, Traxx and Nic. 8) Your words mean alot to me, and you all speak alot of sense, I thank you for giving my problems some thought, I just have to hope things improve, but I do need to move on. Pining for the same girl for 3 years isn't good, I really could do with going to see someone actually, I have a few issues.

Ninja, I feel for you
Once my sister's friend-whom I really liked (and she never knew about it) told me out of the blue "I would love to adopt you as a brother".
I'm guessing she saw how good of a brother I am to my dear lil' sister.

Anyway, her saying that, made me realize to move on.Cold, but it's better than tormenting myself knowing that she sees me as a friend/brother

Ninja, I really really feel for you. It wasn't that many pages ago that I was talking about the girl that I love. And even though I have been asking other girls out, if she came back, I would be there for her. I really do love her, so I know that you must love her deeply for you to move to somewhere you may not know that well. Never give up hope brother. And try not to dwell on it. I would have gone crazy, and have on a lesser level many times already. Just, hang in there. Maybe there is something to this love beats all thing.
