I think the excahnge rate also makes UK items good value for those who have the Euro

Not as good as it used to be. The UK tourism department says that the number of families going on holiday in Europe is going down steeply. People prefer holidays to places like the US atm. Which is good because the Sterling- Dollar exchange rate is fantastic atm.
