JAOTW or "the single we have been missing"

The single version of JAOTW is finally according to the wishes of many fans:
-catchy chorus and melodies (in opposition to Behind the cow, Lass uns Tanzen etc.)
-a "round" production, each part fits to the other (in opposition to ARTB, Behind the Cow)
-the typical Scooter elements: fast beats and hard bass (in opposition to Panties Wanted and Shake that!)
-HP supports the beats with his voice and doesn't rap all the time (i. o. t. Hello, One, Ratty's Revenge,...)
-it's not the old A-B-A-B-C-B-scheme (i. o. t. See me feel me, One, Behind the Cow, Weekend,...) - Scooter have put the C-part before the second chrous
On the whole Scooter show variation within their typical elements, which is a great thing and should be continued in the next years.

The build is nothing new, Jigga Jigga! and The Night had the same one with the C part after the second A part. Overall it's nothing special, maybe just something that sounds new because of all the very similar singles before this one.

And fade away just like our love that died

Listen to JAOTW, and tell me what other single it sounds like. I challenge anyone to do that. It does sound very different, it's format might be similar to The Night and Jigga Jigga, but the track itself is completely different to anything that's come before. 8)

I'm going to quote an over active poster and call it a party bomb! For me, the best Scooter single since 2003 and TSTE album. 8) Just fantastic.

You don't see the big difference? Have you heard The question or ANM? If you can't hear the difference between these tracks then I have to question your hearing.

You seem to be focusing on the similarities, so ok. Lets talk about those shall we. HPV, sure. HP shouts, true that. Quote at the end, 3 for 3.

Now we'll look at the differences. The type of verse from HP, the style is extrmemely different from what we've had from TQ and ANM. You expect HP shouts, it wouldn't be a Scooter single without them so I think it's reasonable to expect them, but this time we have great variety. Not just in style, but in what he actually says. He does like trains on tracks though! Thirdly, the quote at the end. What's wrong with HP's signature philosophical message to us? "Respect to the man in the ice cream van". He's absolutely spot on with that one, we should show that man some respect. 8)

The melody in this track is very different to TQ and ANM aswell, really different style. If you can't hear the differences then that's a shame for you. But they are there. This single is quite fresh, and it's a brilliant, positive track. :D

Negativity is not needed here  If you like it, brilliant. If not, don't rain on the parade.

It is what it is, it's a shame you don't like it much. It's good to hear you talk about tracks you do like though, well, I'm presuming you like those you quoted there.

The Scooter style has changed so much since then though, right now they're going through a Jump phase, who knows what next year will bring!

At the very least you've got to respect that they aren't standing still, you might not be enjoying the transition into Jump, but if they were still pumping out tracks like those you mentioned, people would be moaning about that. I think in their own way, these jump tracks are as good as the big hitters from the 2nd chapter.

The diversity of the Scooter discography is just fantastic. 8)

Well said, gotta say. :D This phase is interesting, no doubt, and as said, just a phase, they won't be doing jumpstyle for ever, and something different is coming sooner or later.
 This is a signature.

C'mon guys, if there would be no jumpstyle dancers in the video nobody would think that this is jumpstyle. It is only jumpstyle for you due to the fact that it is on the album and due to the fucking clapping hands. If on the album would be "friends" or "The Night" with clapping hands and jumpers in the video you would also put them into Junpstyle section. You know what I wanna say?

To be honestly: For me it's the most boring song from the album. Ok, the vocals are ok, but this song has NO highlight. Only this bassdrum with the bass (and claps of course), this long refrain, strophe and chorus again, end. It's too monotone, too boring, too repetive!
Don't have to be beautiful...but it helps

No, the "Michael Knight"-part in "The Night" and the "Davay Davay"-part in Jigga Jigga are after the second chorus and not after the second a-part

In former times there was a difference between all the singles - FtM and FHS have indeed a completely different style, but JAOTW breaks a few traditions of the singles before (rapping HP, exactly same build-up etc.) and that makes it fresh.

I guess some people are never satisfied: If Scooter produce always typical songs they say: "I want sth. completely new and fresh".
If Scooter try a new style like in "Shake That!" they say: "Oh no, this is not Scooter anymore!"
"JAOTW" is a good combination - typical elements but variation within those elements. If they releas "Marian" after "JAOTW", we will have a good diversity in the fourth chapter singles.

I hope you realize that the "Michael Knight" phrase in The Night is during the C part and the "Davay, Davay" shouts in Jigga Jigga are pretty much in the last B part. About how fresh it is, it's hardstyle, so that combined with the more powerful H.P. shouts and the cool Rock Civilization melody results in something better. Still it's far from what everyone expects.

There is another little innovation: in the after-chorus-melody in the end of the track they have combined parts of HP's shouting part with the melody...this is also something we have never had before. In former days there was a clear separation between chorus, melody and shouting parts.

That's not really "fresh"...and it doesn't fit very well in the song.

Yeah. I like this, too. :D

Probably the thing I like most in this track is that they're using a cool vocoder with HP -- it still sounds HP, but a lot different in a way. :D
