Okay, just to ask a question here -

If TQIWITQ was a chart success, do you think that this entire album was recorded as a response? For a band that's made 12 albums so far, certainly they have enough studio experience to be able to make tracks quickly. Single 2, "And No Matches" is more or less the same exact song as "The Question...", many of the tunes are covers, and they could have had some of the melodies or rips lying around from previous sessions. If a band could record an album in the span of 2 weeks it would be Scooter! And besides, did anyone know this was coming even a month ago? Just wondering could it be possible?

Remedy - Next time Scooter release a single in a different genre, don't buy it. 8)

I've recognised, that "Enola Gay" must be a short produced track! The first 1:34 minutes are normal, then the tunes starts almost again like in the beginning, at 3:00 minutes, finally a new break begin... wow! Man, what a loveless piece of shit! (I must say, the last minute of "Enola Gay" is so bad, would be better when they have cut out the last minute :P)

Intro: i don't like it - i prefer something like Ignition or MC is missing 2/10

Jumping All Over The World: good H.P.'s parts, but refrain is way too long and a bit boring, and too much claps 6/10

The Question: i like it, best from the album 9/10

Enola Gay: i like it, it's simple but good 8/10

Neverending Story: nothing special 6/10

And no matches: good, but too similar to the question 8/10

Cambodia: nice, but we're all already heard that song before many times 5/10

I'm lonely: i don't know really.. i like refrain, but bassline and mastering could be better 7/10

Whstling Dave: don't like it 3/10

Marian: wtf? terrible singing by HP, worst scooter tune ever 1/10

Lighten Up The Sky: very good, but its not scooter :P 8/10

Hardcore Massive: boring 5/10

i think its worst scooter album, there isn'y any 10/10.. no partybomb..

Quoted from ""Sigh""

I am very tired, so I'm sure a few mistakes will sneak in somewhere. Try to overlook them. (I'll look at it again tomorrow and edit in case I've made some major blunders.)

The Defintion - Not much to say. Quite boring, but since it's a jumpstyle-album it's somewhat clever. Still, I don't like it.

Jumping all over the World - It starts out fantastic (not counting the intro). The first 6 seconds of JAOTW are great. H.P is sounding angry and quite energetic, spitting out the lyrics, everything is as it should be. Then the bass hits, and everything is still fine. 21 seconds in however, comes that f##k happy melody. By the time the first HPV-chorus hits, 39 seconds in, they lost me completely. That HPV is torturing me for 53 seconds. After that, it's a lost cause. Very repetive as well.
The simple, three lines of lyrics doesn't help either.

The ? is what is the ? - I won't even bother to say anything about this piece of S##t. f##k. This is really as low as Scooter can get. If I could, I would go back in time to erase this useless excuse of music from my mind. Damnit. I did bother to say something.

Enola Gay - Annoying clapping, annoying vocal-part. It just drags along, it never goes anywhere. A weak, boring, happy melody. The entire song is anti-climatic, since it doesn't build up to anything. It's just there. And I don't like the melody. Would fit great in the next "My Little Pony"-movie though.

Neverending Story - I don't see the greatness in this song.
H.P sounds bored (compare it to the way he sounds in JAOTW), and uninspired. Again that awful clapping, and random lyrics. A good chorus could have saved it I guess, but everything just stops and from nowhere comes this annoying HPV, and just as in JAOTW the HPV-part goes on for too long. This is really Scooter according to the 3rd and 4th-chapter single formula, which is not intended as a compliment, since I honestly think the singles from this period are some of the worst they've ever produced. And it's not even good HPV, it's just weak and when it starts for the third time, I start looking for the power-button on my speakers.
This is just the reason I don't like the new material, everything is so damn predictable. Try something new, sil vous plait!

And No Matches - Better than the ?, but that doesn't say much. The refrain is actually quite catchy, although I hate it it sticks in my head. But I didn't like Big, big world (and believe me, being from Sweden, I had to listen to that song more than I wanted. Impossible to avoid.), and I don't like this one. The melody during H.P's part is quite good though, but this is also predictable and dull. H.P, HPV, H.P, HPV, a "funny" quote, HPV, the end.

Cambodia - Since I generally don't listen to electronic music I've never heard the original, as far as I know. Still, I do recognize the melody from somewhere, I just can't place it. Not as bad as some peple think (but then again, as I said, I've never heard the original), but the clapping is starting to get really annoying. Impossible to filter out too, it's almost the only thing I hear. An average instrumental.

I'm Lonely - Again, the same thing. H.P, HPV, H.P, HPV, bleh, bleh, bleh.
The HPV is just as bad as in NS, and goes on for too long. And again, clapping (I won't mention the clapping again, but I hate it in the rest of the songs too).

Hello Scooter. I have a question. Did all your equpment burn down midway through this album? Was the clapping the only sound you were able to use

Best wishes
// ttk
(Alright I did mention it again. Not anymore though, I promise)

One thing that really bugs me, is that not a single song has a really climatic ending, or middle, or a climatic part at all. There is not a single moment where everything explodes into.. Awesomness. Not in any song so far. Weird.

Whistling Dave - Heh.. I kinda like these kinds of melodies (Commodore 64, NES, SNES, etc.) so it's not a total failure to my ears. Still, the whistling isn't very convincing, and in between the videogame-sound it's quite boring. Same melody, but not as interesting. The "Game Over" at the end is a nice touch. I'd rather play Tetris myself, than listen to this. And I hate that game. Stupid f##k blocks, gave me a damn trauma in my early years. All in all, I would say this is below average since it's such a small part of it that I "enjoy".

Marian (Version) - I've seen some of you say that this reminds you of Rammstein. I do not think so. It's nice that they try something new, really, but the result isn't quite as nice. H.P isn't a very good singer, and some words really sound weird. No HPV, atleast, which is a good thing. If you had some f##k balls, guys, you'd release this as the third single.
One of the best on the album (which isn't saying too much), but there is still room for improvement. Nice change from the usual vocoder atleast, I hope they do something like this though even darker on the next album (perhaps with own lyrics?!?!). Would be interesting.

Lighten Up the Sky - Nearing the end, and as usual it ends with instrumental(s). The beginning sounds like Bramfeld (I think it's called, damn I am so tired now. Wall of text!), but not quite as good. Atleast it doesn't follow in the exact same steps as the earlier tracks on the album. It's a small change, but a change nevertheless. Goes on a little too long before the melody hits though, without an apparent reason. They could have cut off almost a minute, and noone would notice. (Oh, I really want to mention the clapping again..) Melody is so-so, nothing special, but tolerable. Might be the best instrumental on the album, but I am not entirely convinced by it.

The Hardcore Massive - Oh boy. When I heard the samples I got some hopes for this song. The beginning isn't too good, and just as in the previous song it goes on for a just a little too long. No variety. 2 minutes of repetiveness that isn't really needed. But then.. "Hardcore Massive..." and finally! 2 minutes in, in the last song on the album, I find something I really like. I've seen some say the melody is too random, childish and whatever, but I really dig it. In fact, it's probably my most played track so far. Scratch what I said above, this is the instrumental of the album. I am even willing to overlook the clapping (Fine! I said it again) and the beginning, because I really like that melody. Full volume, wake some neighbours and have a vodka shot. It gets me in a good mood! And I don't even care that it is kinda childish (sounds like a merry-go-round kind of thing), it makes me forget that I've been almost forcing myself through 11 tracks before it, if only for a short moment. Though when I think about it, it might the joy of reaching the end that makes it good. For example, if this melody would have been on BTTHWJ, I would perhaps not even have thought it worth mentioning. But right now, I'm judging it compared to the rest of the album, and that is an entirely different matter.

The Greatest Difficulty - Yeah.. The end is here. Finally. Eject.

So, the conclusion (if anyone even bothered to read through it all, which I doubt. Lazy f##k)?
Well, it has one thing which MTG, WGTLLN and TUAO are lacking. A theme. It does sound like a album, which can't be said about the three mentioned albums. Still, I am kinda torn. I strongly dislike this jumpstyle-nonsense, and most of the songs are way too predictable. And happy. Why does every song have to be so damn happy (Marian excepted)? I want a dark album. Dark! Make it happen.

Is it better than TUAO? Well, I have on numerous occasions referred to TUAO as human waste on a plastic disc (which is of course a slight exaggeration), and I wouldn't go quite so far with JAOTW. However, it's a very tight race, but right now I think JAOTW is the winner, by a nose (or album) length. But it is really, really predictable.
Expect the unexpected? HA!

Next time, though, do something to surprise me. Anything. Please?

Review brought to you by the always cheerful and positive ttk.
i agree with almost everytrhing you say, but i dont agree that 3rd chapter has soemthing common with 4th chapter and 3rd chapter singles are bad. they are great!
one more thing - are you french  oh no i just read you are swedish.

hmmm i guess you have never said "i love you", cause you are afraid to show you are able to feel positive feelings. or you say " i love you, but that doesnt mean much".

or are scooter so bad? but in the times they were good, you did never say anything good. or its just me not remembering...

No, please, not soon. Don't release another album before the end of 2010. Start working on it as soon as you're done touring and put your freaking hearts into it.

Because this...

(ignoring intro/outro)

Jumping All Over The World
Isn't this one of the singles? No, wait, it's not (at least, not yet). It does sound like one of them. Or both. Or perhaps... Oh no, we hadn't had those crowd shouts yet. Boring, no variety.
5/10

The Question is what is the Question
I'll admit this is a pretty catchy track and at least they sampled a song not everyone and their neighbours know. But did they have to rip off Frozen Flame? (post-chorus)
6/10

Enola Gay
I haven't got anything against sampling an sich, but not if they're horridly famous tracks that have been sampled before (and better). (eg: Natural Born Deejays) On top of that, there's little to no innovation from the original track.
3/10

Neverending Story
*sigh* I can see why this song is getting more praise than most other songs on the album, but it's way too close to the singles again.
5.5/10

And No Matches
Same song as The ?, but worse.
3.5/10

Cambodia
I like the original of this song. I like several of the covers of this song. I can't really dislike this track, because I like the melody. My complaint, however, is that this song has been done too often (I can't count the number of versions I have, probably almost as many as Popcorn) and that this version lacks innovation, it hasn't been set apart by something that is distinctly Scooter.
6.5/10

I'm Lonely
Egh. Rather boring, another HPV (admittedly, one of the least annoying HPV's on the album), same beat again.
5/10

Whistling Dave
Game sounds, this is new... for Scooter. Sadly they're in the same league as HPV's: you can use them, but you have to be careful not to overdo it. All in all, not as bad as most reviews make it seem here.
5.5/10

Marian
A good track, but please, please, please, where's the innovation, where's the heart, where's the Scooter sound? (I'm not sure whether the original Sisters of Mercy song also had the German part, but I'm 100% the Poésie Noire version has, so even that isn't original) But at least that annoying commercial jump beat isn't there.
6.5/10

Lighten Up The Sky
Probably the best track on the album and that isn't exactly good news. The comparisons with Bramfeld (a b-side for fuck's sake) are majorly unfair to ... Bramfeld. This track lacks the layers and the variety of Bramfeld. Melody's okay, but why did they have to use that horrid sample that sounds as if there's something wrong with the mixing table? My brother's bass guitar sounds like that when it's connected badly.
7.5/10

The Hardcore Massive
Average at best. Would've been a weak filler on, say, Sheffield or so, is one of the better tracks here.
6/10

A positive note is that this album does at least sound like an album again and not like the random collection of songs we've had since Mind the Gap. But sounding like an album shouldn't be an equivalent of using the same beat and clap throughout the whole thing.
All in all: 5.45/10
That's pretty bad for a band I'm supposed to like.
Look at me,
What have I become?
I'm a piece of everyone,
Following the fashion fads...

-01. THE DEFINITION-
Funny intro, like it in a way. It gives the album an English Flavour

-02. JUMPING ALL OVER THE WORLD-
Very energetic song, nice cover melody for refrain, I like it that the posse sings together with HP, one of my favourites. A bit too long HPV part that’s why a little lower note 8/10

-03. THE QUESTION IS WHAT IS THE QUESTION-
I like this song very much. When it was released, I had the same fresh feeling like I had when Scooter released Ramp (The Logical Song), excellent track 9/10

-04. ENOLA GAY-
Normaly I am not a fan of instrumentals, but this one I like very very much. Nice HPV vocals, I especially like the melody at the end, very good instrumental, I never thought I would say that about an instrumental 7,5/10

-05. NEVERENDING STORY-
Excellent track, nice melodies, reminds me a bit of ‘Nessaja’ times. Track is a real track for the winter and the Christmas era, if you know what I mean. I like it, nice HP vocals. A pitty that they pitched Nikk’s vocals, but it fits very good in the song ! 10/10

-06. AND NO MATCHES-
Well everything I have said on the forum. I like the track, although it’s a bit to similar to TQIWITQ but there are nicer melodies under the HP vocals. I like the ‘slow’ part music (in which HP is talking about the matches), Club mix is really excellent 7/10

-07. CAMBODIA-
Well, nice track, but nothing interesting, not very Scooterish........5,5/10

-08. I’M LONELY-
Cool melodies before and after the refrain, refrain is ok, but sometimes it doesn’t flow good. If you know what I mean. It’s like a part of the refrain was cut out. Overal nice track 7/10

-09. WHISTELING DAVE-
I like the tetris sample, nice track overal, not very Scooterish, that’s a pitty...... 6/10

-10. MARIAN (VERSION)
In one word super, I very like such ‘strange’ HP track’s, and I’m a fan of Dark Wave, very good track ! 10/10

-11. LIGHTEN UP THE SKY-
Never heared such a track from Scooter before, very much different parts and melodies added to one track. Very refreshing, a cool instrumental, I never thought I would say that about an instrumental 7,5/10

-12. THE HARDCORE MASSIVE-
I like the refrain of the track, the rest is OK. 6/10

-13. THE GREATEST DIFFICULTY
Funny outro, like it in a way. It gives the album an English Flavour. First outro of Scooter in history

The Album get’s an overall note of - 7,6 - , it’s not Scooter’s best album, but I like it. My favourite album is still, and probably will be for a long time: “The Ultimate Aural Orgasm”
H.P.'s "The Voice" - "The Myth" > He stands out all above the rest, blonder than the best! :D

After listening to it several times I come to the conclusion it is not their best album, but it´s not that bad, it had some really good songs. Different people like different songs and as I read here every song makes at least some people happy. No artist makes an album where everyone should like each song, that´s just not possible.

THE DEFINITION 7/10
Not their best intro. At least this intro doesn´t have the purpose to fill 3 minutes of the album.

JUMPING ALL OVER THE WORLD 10/10
This track is just full of energy. It should be the next single I´m sure.

THE QUESTION IS WHAT IS THE QUESTION 10/10
I loved this track since the first time I listened to it.

ENOLA GAY 9/10
One of their best instrumentals.

NEVERENDING STORY 6/10
Here it gets boring because all the tracks are similar. I think making this song a jumpstyle track wasn´t their best idea.

AND NO MATCHES 9/10
Great track, though very similar to the question. But I don´t care, I like to listen to it.

CAMBODIA 5/10
It starts promising but then it´s just 99% like another jumpstyle version of this song that also has been published this year.

I´M LONELY 8/10
When I heard the sample I thought it´s going to be a ballad. But it also has jumpstyle elements. It´s not bad. I like the synthesizer melody.

WHISTLING DAVE 9/10
I like this song. Maybe just because this melody reminds me of a Christmas a loooong time ago when I got my Game Boy :D

MARIAN (VERSION) 5/10
Don´t like dark wave so much. It´s not really catchy and in my opinion 5 minutes are too much for this song.

LIGHTEN UP THE SKY 8/10
Like it. It´s a bit long but I think this is Scooter style.

THE HARDCORE MASSIVE 7/10
It sounds a bit cheap, nothing really special, but nothing bad.

THE GREATEST DIFFICULTY 7/10
First I thought we´d get a 13 track album. When I saw it´s only 20 seconds I was disappointed. But it´s a new idea in the history of Scooter and quite creative. Let´s hope there is no message in this track and they go on.

This is an album I´ll definitely listen to a lot in the following weeks, though I don´t like all tracks. With 49 minutes it´s a bit short and only the last 3 songs are in a different style. The singles are great though. My girlfriend and some of my friends here in Mexico like them very much, too (by the way). The whole album gets an 8.
100 % of the Mexican Scooter Posse :)
