Scooter running out of steam? - I hope not!

Hi all

I just noticed the latest album in the discography section of the website. I noticed that most/all (soz haven't checked all of them) seem to be re-releases from previous albums.

Does this mean Scooter are running out of steam after over 10 years of non-stop top tunes?

I'm worried to be honest because Scooter doesn't seem to be releasing quite as much as they used to in the way of new tunes. The last really good tunes released were "Privileged to witness" and "The Leading Horse". While I will admit some of the others ("Trip to nowhere", "My eyes are dry", "Apache rocks the bottom" etc) were also quite good none of them seemed to really quite get the old scooter rythm* moving like their previous tunes.

So, what do you people think? - I don't mean to sound like I am putting Scooter down - on the contrary they are the best band ever BUT I'm suffering from lack-of-great-tunes syndrome. I'd really like it if they revisited the WATG style again but somehow I see the "Electric generation" (as HP puts it in WATG) being a little disappointed in the future :(

Not quite sure what you mean, because Who's got the Last Laugh Now was the last studio album release. Exceess All Areas, which I guess you mean is a live album like Encore was , so thats why it has old tracks on it as well.

We willl have to wait and see what the next release is like I guess :)

With a new member in the band its an exciting time, I think they are working very hard on the new album just now :)

I agree Kujirudo. I don't think you have any room to criticise other people's topics, geeteeage considering the amount of pointless jarg you post.

And, Turboz, as I said to Renka in another topic, you aren't the only one who's not particularly happy with Scooter at the moment, for whatever reason. All we can do is hope the new album puts things right. We have to give them, and especially Mike, a chance.

Where have you read whining in this topic?
Waiting for albums from Way Out West, Sasha, Second Sun, Airwave, BT, Quivver, Pendulum, Solarstone, Röyksopp and Massive Attack

Whiny topic = pointless topic.

And as MC A.H. says, I don't see any whining in here. It's just a topic about somebody who has some questions about the sound of Scooter. That's it. No whining.

Well, I think thatīs your point of view, as I can like other tunes more than those you named. You have to understand that fact. Everyone likes a different style, and would be impossible if everybody had to agree. I always repeat "You canīt please anyone, so please yourself", and I think itīs the way Scooter thinks.

On the other hand, with Mike in the group, a new inspiration is here and thereīs nothing we can say right now, otherwise we can only wait, and of course expect, as they deserve, so hight as they have been since 1994!! But Iīm calm, because they have chosen the right man. From their experience they have decided to call Mike
You canīt please anyone...
SO PLEASE YOURSELF!!!!

So who's Mike and when did this happen?

Tell me the news!!!!! (This is exciting stuff!)

Maybe he's the saviour of Scooter!

PS Sandra, you've actually met Scooter? (Looking at the pic in your sig) - What are they like as people?

No offence, but please don't call my topic stupid when you cannot even clearly write or clearly describe your points of view. Even decent spelling would help me to understand what you are saying.

If you don't like a thread then ignore it. It's that simple.

Have a nice day (Though I'm really sure you'll find something else to grumble about..)

No - this is not a stupid topic at all - and I agree - if you don't like it ignore it

Michael Simon replaced Jay as the 3rd man in mid August (about 7 weeks ago) - the announcement is in the "News Archive" - Jay left to persue a solo career.

Yes - the pic in my signature was taken in Berlin outside MTW almost exactly 2 years ago - they seem like nice people to me :)

Whats MTW?

Did you get to speak to them and have a conversation? - or was it a simple "Can I have my photo?" type thing?

Tell me more!

I hope I can meet Scooter (or whats left of them now) someday. They're really the best band to exist. Germany certainly does have some very talented people!
