If you can send a sound sample of this "donk" sound, maybe I can help you. ;)
But I don't know Alex K and it's not familiar...

This sample is crap quality, but you should hear the donk fine.
(Its the beat between the kicks lol) Around 45 secs you can hear it better.

I assume by DONK you mean the bass sond of the sample?!

no, I never intended to damage your self-worth-feelins in any way...I was only trying to respond with a joke that fits in certain situations...

I never said you was, i'm just admiting i was being useless for wanting help ;)

Anyway, on AATW Forums i've been told about using Sound Forge, and messing with FM Synth... but i still cant bloomin work it out...

Quoted from ""mat.bradshaw""

ok - new
go to tool - fm synthesis

you want the configuration so its 1 2 and optional 3 in stacked.

set the desired length of the donk(waveform). 0.3 secs or something.

ok so theres current operator buttons, each has diff angles of attack/decay on the screen and each coincides with a certain frequency.
freq 1 250 ish
freq 2 80-140 <this is the one that affects the sound a lot
freq 3 as high as you like, keep it dead short tho.

i did it with all sine before, but as always - experiment.

you should have a nice big warping soft donk.

just then a case of tweaking best one to tweak is the subbass, as you really chang the sound when you play with the envelope. and then once happy, process, EQ for more attack and compress etc.

BTW, Just thought i'd say. I'm working on a remix of Trance Atlantic's Rectified Rainbow again, This being an idea i've had for a while :)
