Are we Brits the only ones that don't give two hoots about the Eurovision Song Contest and only really watch it to have a laugh at the really bad entries and Terry Wogan's cynical comments (if we can bothered put ourselves through the touture at all)? Is it really taken that seriously on the continent?

Eurosong is politically orientated, not so many countries vote for you, e.g. Scandinavian countries will give maximum points between them, so do the Mid-Euro countries, but UK always gets little from here and there. But I think yours song this year was very good compared with the past songs you had on Eurosong.

Btw we loved the most the song from Norway.
A slow song, but it have something and she have a good voice. :D

Yes, Norway was among my favourites also when I first heard it, it was slow, but with power, a song to remember.

I liked Germany also, scenery was strange, it doesn't suit well to Germany, but song was o.k.

I only heard the mp3 of that track.
What was the ranking of Lithuania?

51

Lithuania was 6th

I liked that performance too. Song wasn't so special but it was fun. If I would have voted my vote would have go to the Lithuania.
Waiting for albums from Way Out West, Sasha, Second Sun, Airwave, BT, Quivver, Pendulum, Solarstone, Röyksopp and Massive Attack

My favourite was 'Mihai Traistariu - Tornero' from Romania (4th).

The Finland song was good. They deserved the 1st place.

Lordi

I like so much the winners!! ´cause they r really different from the others. I also liked Romania, it sounds like O-Zone, witch was one of my favourite groups. There were really great songs in Turkie and Ukranie too, but the coolest were Lordi. But of course I prefered Kate Ryan....

Most people in the UK recognise that it is very political - but at the same time, they don't particularly care. If anything Eurovision is just funny. A cheesey example of bad European music. Maybe that's not fair on all the entries but i agree that musically it largely sucks. I just find it strange that the rest of the continent actually take it quite seriously - that winning it shows your nation is the best musically.

I don´t think so. Well, I think that most of us (Germans) ain´t taking it to seriously. You can see this when you listen to some of the songs Germany has performed in recent years. We have had some very bad, but laughly songs :P . I think that it is the same with some other countries. The Fins wouldn´t have won, if anyone took the contest seriously. There song was too bad at all and their masks were bullshit!
I think that most people have a laugh on this contest, no more and no less.
God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen.
