I once had that ream/vision to become a producer/audio engineer as well, but @ least in germany it is quite hard to establish yourself in that job since there already are enough people
hehe, yeah you've really got put yourself out there and basically be a slut in the musical industry, just so people know your name(i dont really mean sleep around, but just to put yourself out there, anywhere possible to get your name somewheres)
If you're lucky, yes then you get to be audio engineer for a band that gets famous or something, but I guess the chances are low..

just gotta know people that know people or just meet them randomly or just meet them through the school.
Do you have connections in that direction?
yeah, but only one minor... but it's a start. i'm not really trying to get all the way through by knowing people, i want people to recognise my skills...
