What do other bands think of Scooter?

Simple question.

There's a lot of dance groups out there. What do other artists think of Scooter?

It'd be interesting to see what Tiesto says. Even though I don't think he's that good and how he became the #1 DJ in the world is beyond me.

AFAIK they all hate them. Especially when they have to release club tracks under different names to get them played.
We started in 1994....in 2012 we're still on the case!!!

Other dance acts properly respect them (certaining not all of them, but how long scooter have been around for should discern a certain respect from most of the other dance acts), but I would say most other bands, particulary ones from outside Europe, have properly never heard of them.

There are DJs who hate them (eg. Judge Jules)
There are DJs who don't care about them (eg. Paul Van Dyk)
There are DJs who love them (eg. Balloon)

And dance acts like or don't like them as their "competitors" :) Tastes vary out there...

When I first registered in the old forum (about a year ago now), I unfortunately joined right before a massive onslaught of Scooterhaters. (I think this was triggered by the use of the Push sample in Weekend.) At first I thought that they were just some idiots who heard Scooter on the radio and wanted to wind up their fans. I had no idea that they were my fellow dance music fans. I took it on impulse that an act as diverse, radical and successful as Scooter would be respected by other dance producers.

Silly Mir, with his misty-eyed head in the clouds as usual...

I was shocked when the reality hit me. These were our brothers within the techno fanbase, who liked exactly the same music as us bar one band, attacking us and treating us like outsiders, all for the 'crime' of loving Scooter. I was simply unable to understand why. Our boys have done so much to shape dance music over the last ten years that they don't get credit for. The tunes from when Ferris was in the band influenced hardcore, particularly from the UK, for years. The Second Chapter with Axel provided us with some genre-pushing tracks. And when The Logical Song hit the UK in 2002, nobody else had dared to unleash anything that rough and different on the mainstream before (shame they overused its formula, though...).

Now I understand. It's trendy to hate Scooter. It's a sociological ploy that's existed for ages; if you want to look all cool, attack something popular and successful. Exactly the same thing happened in music technology circles with the TB-303 - an instrument which precipitated the invention of techno, would you believe! :!: Attacking Scooter is a convenient way for idiot figures in the dance scene to get attention and respect from any sheep who want to follow their hating. That's all.

But more good than bad came out of my brush with insanity with the Scooterhaters. I could go on forever about how my mental attitude has changed, but this post probably fills a screen already! The most important thing I've learnt is, in short:

Never give a f*ck about what idiots say!

I'm sure most of it comes out of jealousy. Think, Scooter has won a HUGE amount of awards for there dance music. They've been around for years, which is hard to say for most dance groups lately.

But no matter what, I still support Scooter 100%. Always will.

Yes, Infect-Ya, you're ríght. I know, that Scooter and Starsplash are good friends. I heard, that Sash! like Scooter very much, too. Brooklyn Bounce and Balloon were Special Guests on Scooter-Tournees. It's good, that ATB likes Scooter.
I know, that Scooter is Blümchen's favourite Band. Also, Groove Coverage, E Nomine, Udo Lindenberg, Rammstein, City and Linkin' Park are Scooter-Friends. Udo Lindenberg and Rammstein likes the Scooter-Ideology, they said.
Marc Acardipane and DJ Tomcraft doesn't like Scooter-Music, but they says, that Scooter are sympathic. And they respects Scooter and their success. I think, these are better reactions then K-Paul.
