Welcome to the forum :)

there is a lot of info in the Biography part of this site, but here are the basic facts:

they live / work in Hamburg

their Names are Rick J Jordon, Jay Frog and H.P. Baxxter

Scooter started in 1994, but at that time it was Rick, Ferris and H.P.

EDIT - I forgot Jens, the fouth member of Scooter and the manager. but he does not perform on stage with them

Hello Maguns, welcome! :)

For your questions:

- Scooter live in Hamburg, Germany. Their studio is also there in a part of the city called Bramfeld.

- The names:
H.P. Baxxter (real name: Hans-Peter Geerdes)
Rick J. Jordan (real name: Henrik Stedler)
Jay Frog (real name: Jürgen Frosch)

- Their career started in the end of 1993 when they started the remix-project "The Loop!". Then they remixed a track called "Valleé de larmes" and they decided to do a new project with it. They called it Scooter because of the fair sound in the track. The single had not much success. Then they produced "Hyper Hyper". they hoped for a small club hit. And with this track their career started. The first hit of Scooter.

Actually I Think Rick is "Hendrik Stadler" not "Henrik Stedler". Dunno for sure.

You could add Nick, who is Rick's wife and all the female voices you hear in tracks is her.
Also some of the HPV is her voice too.
Also you should "educate" yourself a bit with Celebrate The Nun,which is a group where H.P baxxter and Rick Jordan and Britt Maxime who is H.P's sister and another guy that I cannot remember his name started.
They were active around 1986 until 1990-1 if I'm not mistaken.
Previous members:Ferris Bueller, who is H.P's cousin was in the group between 1994-1998.Last single with Scooter-No Fate.
Axel Coon, who was in the group between 1998-2002.Last single Ramp, but unofficially,he was also in the producing of Nessaja.
Oh,and last but not least:RATTY which is a side-project of Scooter when Axel was in the group,we hope that Ratty will be again also with Jay Frog,Ratty is only instrumental tracks, very powerful tracks.Sunrise rules forever.
Try to dig up some tracks with the Loop! remixes. It's Scooter as remix team.
Check full discography of everything at www.shefftunes.tk
If you guys remember anything else,do tell.....

Kind of related, but why did they change their names? Because they changed from German names to english ones, was that the purpose ?

How would it sound?
The Hendrick,The Ferris,and Hans-Peter back in the U.K?
I think Rick is probably a short version of Hendrick, about family name, just for fun.
Many musicians and actors change names to be easily memorized.

I think his real name was Sören or something similar.

It's better that they've changed their names, english ones can also be easily memorized. But they didn't change their names when they started with Scooter, they've changed them before, also in CTN they had the same names as today.

I'm wondering, did they officially change their names, I mean, is in Rick's ID written Rick J. Jordan or they use these names just for the show?

I think it's their only "artist-name", pseudonym. However being on the stage is their life so they probably never use their real names.

19

Monday, October 31st 2005, 4:15pm

Yeah, they are probably just pseudonyms, but only few know or remember their real names, and fewer use them. :)

By the way, if Scooter performs some older track on some gig, "Back in the U.K." for example, does HP replace "the Ferris" with "the Jay" when singing? 8)
 This is a signature.

I remember that in the past he have changed Ferris with Axel, but I have not heard it live since Jay is in the band. :D
