Tales of Fantasy - Escape From Rotterdam

Well, I tried to mix and master this as best as I can. I used a lot of Scream 4 because it's the only way to get really good distortion for hard tracks in Reason.

This track didn't come out as good as I wanted, mainly with mixing and mastering (and some of the leads). I might make small modifications and attempt to mix and master it again. But, I want to work on other tracks sometime this month.

The title "Escape From Rotterdam" doesn't really fit the track, originally this was supposed to be a redone version of "Da Boombox", which was a very Hard Trance track.

I probably put too much distortion, but making hardstyle isn't easy. Even Deepforces has trouble making Hard tracks using Reason...and he gets paid to do it. If anyone heard the new remix he did of "The Megara 2005", you'll notice everything but the bass drum gets drowned out by the layered lead melody.

I could use feedback, being that this is my first attempt at doing something really hard using Reason.

As for "Save the World", I need to make some changes to the set up (maybe freeze half of the tracks)...because my cpu has been having trouble with playback once the break between the verse and chorus occurs. It cuts off and lags, could be my soundcard (I don't have a good sound card, it's the lowest quality Audigy soundcard - I might look into Emu-X). I might need to buy new RAM as well.

I'll have a demo of "Save The World", a much cleaner one than the previous.

Well, enjoy...feedback is appreciated.

Heey, Rotterdam, that's 20 miles from my home

This song isn't bad, your production are getting more and more better :D but there are a few things:
- That voice that says: keep that bass bass bumbing hard/loud (which one is it? :P ) you really have to change that, it sounds so childish, unprofessional, very standard and it makes me wanna laugh (sorry for that)
- This song sounds 'too busy' there happens too much in just such a little time. I think you should create just 1 melody and work that one out over the 4 minutes of the track

Keep it up working! :)

My next track is going to be like that, I just started it today. I got some hardcore samples, I am going to be looking for samples to modify. I'll probably take the progression route involved with hardcore/gabber...and add a hardstyle melody.

With the current track, I'll definitely make some changes...yeah, it does sound too busy. I'll take your word on that. After I finish the next track, I'll redo this...I might keep some of the same melodies, but make it a little bit simpler.

The next track will definitely implement your advice though.

The drumloop in Escape from Rotterdam was very good, where did you get that one?

Looking forward to hear the changes and your new songs!

Nice track you got there, but it definitely needs some work. Much harder kicks for example. Distort it until the @nalyzer reaches the roof! Make it HARD!! :)
I'd also suggest a slap-bass instead of this sawtooth. The dnb groove though is excellent ;)

the drum loop is from a dnb refill I have...I have a lot of them in rex files, unfortunately I don't have any wavs of drum loops...or I'ld use them with songs I make in flstudio. I originally had the kick turned up pretty high, and I had a kick that was more of a hardcore kick....but I dropped it because it started overlapping the other drum parts.

I'll have to work on it, I'm going to start today, could be a few days to redo the arrangement...and add new vocal samples.

My new track probably won't take more than a week. I'm not playing on making it too long. Maybe 4 to 5 minutes if I build the melody a lot. I could use some more industrial/hardcore samples. Anyone know a good site that has samples that are good for hardcore/industrial (I say industrial because a lot of industrial samples are distorted and hard).
